Sam

"I - oh no - I don't know where it is! Some of them got out - but I didn't see," Nerissa replied frantically, stumbling over loose floorboards as she ran alongside Sam. She whipped her head from one side to another in search of the exit through which several others had escaped, her tangled red hair moving with her. She had caught a glimpse of an exit; one which had been torn into the side of the Shrieking Shack, but at the moment it was most important, it had vanished from her sight.

A whimper caught in Nerissa's throat, and she came to a standstill - until her eyes met with those of one of the other students. "There!" Nerissa told Sam, and quickly changed her course to run towards the exit.

Students
Sam flew through the house, Nerissa in tow, towards the source of the fresh air that seemed to be filling the house, pausing only slightly to see Jess and their captor in battle. Soon enough he was outside, the air hitting him like a wave of water in the desert, it was alien to him, but all the same it was beautiful.

He just about collapsed when he heard a shout from inside, it sounded like the two men were still fighting - knowing Jess' experience, if the man was still standing something had to give. "We need to help him," he said slowly. "Quick," he shouted, more urgent this time, "Get back in there," he yelled, before following his own advice and running into the house.

Ginny went over to Walter. If he wasn't knocked out by Confringo, then this would do it. "Stupefy!" She felt the urge to kick him but resisted. "Is he awake?" she asked out loud while looking into his face. She pointed her wand at him just in case he was still awake.... or alive!

Lana watched the escapee as she struggled to her feet and began shouting hysterically back into the Shack. There were still others inside? And was that... Blood? Lana bit her tongue to bring herself back into the moment, her mind already formulating a plan.
Two more students stumbled out, one spouting out orders like he owned the place. Under the circumstances, Lana could understand, but she wanted to be sure.
She placed a hand comfortingly on Rhys' shoulder, nodding sympathetically.
"Here, just in case..." the Hufflepuff offered, placing her wand at the base of her vocal cords.

"HEY! EVERYONE! THE EXIT'S RIGHT HERE!"

The battle was becoming intense, and he could feel his power slowly draining. he knew the man across from him was feeling it as well, all he had to do was last him out. But the house was collapsing, he had to do something quickly. He smirked slightly though, Jess was just about finished. He shook his head quickly though, as his last curse jolted at him, he had defended it at just the right second.

"Bruised and beaten, the famous Jess Potter dies in the shrieking shack." He smirked and then lifted his wand, but was interupted as one of the children rushed in. "What's this? A child running to a mans battle?" He lazily flicked his wand in the direction of Sam, wasting no more energy than trying to fling him across the room.

Sam, others

He was not right in the head. He couldn't be, if he had truly expected Nerissa to double back in the direction of the danger that they had only just escaped. "No, no, no," she refused repeatedly as she panted. She glanced downward at her hands when they stung once more, and gasped at the sight of the pair of jagged wounds that had been carved into her palms. They had been loosely stitched together by the healing spell that had been cast upon them, but it appeared as though they would tear open once more at the simplest touch. Nerissa plopped down in the grass, her hands still held out before her face. "No," she muttered one last time. "I don't want to die in there."

Brian made it outside and collapsed to the ground. His legs were tired from running out Naomi, and he searched the grounds for Hitame. His time of rest was cut short though as Samuel charged back in. He could not let Samuel go by himself, so he forced himself to his feet and charged in behind Sam. Just about the time he got in, he saw the man lift his wand at Sam. "Get down!" He screamed and pushed Sam out of the way, taking the full force of the mans attack. His breath was knocked out of him and he was sent flying across the room, crashing into the wall behind him, completely unable to move and on the edge of blacking out.

Ginny ran over towards Sam and deflected the spell that was casted. "You really don't get it! This isn't over! Expelliarmus!" Ginny screamed. "Stay out there!" She didn't really seem to have an effect on Sam. Ginny knew we didn't need another injury and Sam knew it too.

Rhys jumped to her feet and stared at the building. "SAM! No!!! Come back! "She sobbed, pulling out her wand and almost charging in herself, if Brian hadn't beat her to it. She saw the girl that Sam had saved, and she immediately frowned at her, not liking her one bit, she didn't know the girl, or what had happened, or who she was, but Sam had held her hand.. and saved her.. and she was acting all upset. "Sam!! Get out of there! The whole place is falling please!! Please!!!" Rhys saw Brian though, and she took a deep breath and flung herself into the building, seeing Brian, she ran over and helped him. "GET UP!" She screamed.

Lana looked around, noting the state of the majority of the girls. She then turned to the shack, conflicted. Sure, the boys were noble and all, but they certainly cared nothing for how the rest were doing... Lana offered some chocolate to the shaken girls, plopping her entire pumpkin of free-given candy and started to cast a protective charm she learned back in 5th year to provide some protection.
"Boys..." she silently cursed, running in to extract the two bull-headed males before they got killed... or worse...

Of course, the first girl she had seen had already run back in. Great.
