“I think any allegiance would be better than the one we are currently in,” Remy answered briskly, crossing one leg over the other as she settled into her chair, padded and straight-backed the way all the chairs around the table were. At least being at the bottom of this dog pile didn’t mean she had to sit on the floor, and come to think of it, now that new meat had entered the Death Eaters, Remy no longer occupied the very lowest of rungs.
“Grindelwald is serving only himself, something all of us should have seen, but in our position of necessity a few months ago, we chose to look the other direction. The Order members and our members have never been on the closest of terms – with some notable exceptions,” Remy added, thinking of those who had dallied in the bedroom of Order members. She personally had never been with anyone from the Order, but not for lack of trying, so she could still use this innuendo without incriminating herself.
“But I think they want Grindelwald ousted just as much as we do, so perhaps a common enemy could be a unifying factor,” Remy finished, knowing she had done nothing but parrot the party line, but that was essentially her job in this organization. They kept her around to gather intel, not to come up with the brilliant plans. All she had to do at these meetings was report on her latest targets and agree with whatever the latest leader was announcing as the plan that would finally get them out of their rut. Even if those ideas were as stupid as the latest ones had been.
