Zoe stood in her usual spot, clipboard in hand, watching her workers.. well work. It was one of her favorite things to do in her department, observing people as they went about their work. They all seemed so happy, so carefree, so damn stupid. They loved creatures, for reasons unknown to Zoe. Sure she may be head of Department, didn't mean she LOVED them by any means.. she stuck up for them sure.. mostly because it was her job, not that she didn't break that thinking every night anyway, when she went out and tracked down monsters to kill. Monsters here being Vampires, Werewolves, and anything else that paraded around as human, but definitely was not.
Zoe watched with affection in her face as she jotted down notes, taking in the workers working on paperwork, the newest batch of interns being led around by a Beast specialist. The atmosphere was light, and almost dizzying in it's happy feelings. It made your blood warm, and you're face flush with how happy the whole room felt. Paper airplanes wizzed over heads, people chatted around water coolers, laughing merrily at a joke. The whole place was brightly decorated, and had an air of sweetness and happiness. Though it was obvious the workers were trying to get into the Halloween mood, by placing pumpkins that cackled on their desks, and bats would fly overhead, cackling holiday tunes.
Overall, Zoe was proud, proud of her workers, who could get things done and still have fun doing it, and proud of her workers for keeping alive what she felt was necessary at work. A good attitude. While Zoe appeared uptight, it was careful planning, and a good attitude that kept people from being afraid of her, and kept people happy, and relaxed, and working at their very best all the time.
