What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Manditory Ministry Staff Meeting - Page 3 Empty Re: Manditory Ministry Staff Meeting

Post by James Roland Fri Sep 30, 2011 8:01 pm

James Roland was extremely happy with the new administration. Grindelwald had fixed all the problems in the ministry, and finally Roland was getting the respect he deserved as head of propaganda. And all Roland had to do in return was to constantly attack the Order of the Phoenix and all its members, something he was more then happy to do, for Roland had never gotten along well with them, and Robert Lupin in particular. Lupin had forced him to always write the truth, whereas Grindelwald knew the importance of deluding the public, and had therefore elevated Roland's position.

Having received the letter, Roland paused his work on the new article about the Orders involvement in the damage to Hogwarts school and made his way, slowly, to the atrium. By the time he arrived, there was already a big group, and Grindelwald had himself arrived at the meeting too. Roland tried to blend in with them before the Minister realized he was late to the meeting by slipping into the crowd next to the closest person, who turned out to be Jess Potter. "Still here I see, though I doubt you'll be for much longer," he said quietly to him with a small chuckle. The meeting seemed to have gone wrong quickly though, Roland noticed as Jack spoke rudely to Grindelwald. "Mind your manners, girl, you are speaking to the minister of magic."

Manditory Ministry Staff Meeting - Page 3 Empty Re: Manditory Ministry Staff Meeting

Post by Jaquellene Jack Dyllan Sat Oct 01, 2011 12:01 am

Jack hated people, and these people especially. Bureacrats. So focused on the order of things, on protocol, appearance was more important that actual follow through. Jack hated politicians and still surprised herself by even remaining at the Ministry. She was sick of all this rigid protocol, all of this tiptoeing around this supervisor and allowing terrible things to happen. She was sick of it.

She was getting even more frustrated, and that was when Ariel walked in. She stared and then looked away, her anger level rising. That was it then- he was not going to even pretend to notice her. He was not going to reach out, they were no longer friends, and they would never be anymore. He had made that decision but had forgotten to inform her.

She looked forward and she felt another presence enter the room- oh, yay, another old man to offer to the club of wrinkled dictators. Rather smug for a latecomer, wasn't he? And as he leaned forward to reprimand her, she tilted her head and said in a sharp tone, "At least I was here on time to even address him. Sir, don't you know the world is supposed to come to a stand still when he wishes to speak with us?"

Manditory Ministry Staff Meeting - Page 3 Empty Re: Manditory Ministry Staff Meeting

Post by Brian Quinn Sat Oct 01, 2011 12:29 am

Brian had entered the room quietly with the bulk of the ministry employees. His goal was to not be noticed any more than necessary. He had taken a seat in the back of the atrium in the shadows and had not moved. He was going to comply with directives--at least so far, but he wasn't sure what the opposition did or did not know about him. His plan was to slip in enough to be counted and then leave again. And Jack was making it rather easy for him to be unnoticed. Jack was making enough of a rukkus that she was actually helping to conceal him and to take focus off of much of anyone except herself. The bad thing was that he did fear what the repercussions of that might be for Jack herself, and at least for awhile, he would most likely be unable to be of any help to her when Grindlewald struck back, and strike back he would, Brian was certain.

Manditory Ministry Staff Meeting - Page 3 Empty Re: Manditory Ministry Staff Meeting

Post by Jess Potter Sat Oct 01, 2011 4:02 am

Jess felt the corners of his mouth tug down as the Minister, a rather generous title for him in Jess' own opinion, rise to the podium, spouting some garbage about subservience and threats, the usual bull that seemed to come out of any sort of "Evil" speech these days.

He was just about to ask how much longer the meeting was going to last, or at least what the meeting was for, when he heard a voice from just behind him, one which made his spine tingle and the hairs on the back of his neck rise. "What on Earth are you talking about?" he spat, glancing at Roland before rolling his eyes and sighing loudly.

"They ramble on a bit, don't they," he whispered quietly to Calvin, chuckling below his breath as he waited for the purpose of the meeting to be revealed.

Manditory Ministry Staff Meeting - Page 3 Empty Re: Manditory Ministry Staff Meeting

Post by Zada Forbes D'Eath Sun Oct 02, 2011 1:46 am

Zada stepped forward again. "Enough of the frivolities," she told them. "Your employer has changed. Minister Grindlewald is making some progressive changes in this...venerable...institution. You all have a choice. Comply with the directives he gives, or deal with the consequences of it. So, then, let's get to the business of it, shall we?

"Mr. Potter, your services here at the Ministry will no longer be needed. Watch your step or your services in your other post will not be needed either. In the meantime, clean out your desk. Your escorts will be happy to assist you with that." She motioned two uniformed guards forward to accompany the alleged Order leader to leave the Ministry building.

"As for your pets, Ms. Gould, I would hate for them to be a distraction any further. If they keep you from being able to follow the Minister's priorities instead of your own, then all the creatures in your department will merely be exterminated and your department eliminated. Am I making myself very clear?

"And as for your immature assistant, it is clear to me she doesn't know how to play with the grownups. Guards, do be so good as to escort Ms. Dyllan immediately to Azkaban, please, without delay. Make her a resident of the Minister's new detention center, please."

Manditory Ministry Staff Meeting - Page 3 Empty Re: Manditory Ministry Staff Meeting

Post by Zoe Gould Sun Oct 02, 2011 2:00 am

Zoe nodded to Grindelwald once when he spoke to her, and she nodded at her intern to go fetch anyone not at the meeting. But when Zada started to speak, she couldn't help but stand up indignantly. "I must object Ms. Forbes!" She exclaimed, staring in horror at Jack. The girl would never survive in Azkaban, she was tough, but Azkaban was a different place entirely. "Jack Dyllan is my personal assistant, and if I promise to keep her in tighter reign, why not allow her to redeem herself?" She asked, staring in horror at Zada, before turning her gaze to Grindelwald again. "Please, I must insist you allow her to stay under my guidance." She said, feeling for the first time, a small rise of fear in her stomach.

She had known what she was getting into when she agreed to help Grindelwald take power, but as it was, she was on his side was she not? She merely had to convince Jack of the same thing, she was sure it could happen, but the girl couldn't go to Azkaban! It wasn't right.. she needed her! As Zoe stood there, completely and totally shocked. "Please... I will do what you wish to keep Ms. Dyllan in my care for longer.." She exclaimed, looking at her most prized employee before looking back at the heads of the meeting, before the rest of her department came into the room. Some of them were nursing some pretty heavy bandages because of their forced removal from feeding the animals, but no one seemed to seriously injured. "I must insist!"

"Guards, do not delay," Zada insisted. "Take her and go. Escort Potter out. Oh and while you're at it, serve Mr. Emof his court summons, won't you?" She watched two uniformed guards leave the platform to go arrest Jack. Two more went to escort Potter. And two more went towards Emof, one of them bearing a parchment scroll.

"Ne'Os Emof, you are hereby ordered to appear in court for crimes against your country by siding with a terrorist faction known as the Death Eaters," Zada said. The housecleaning had begun. She had ignored Gould to this point.

"Ms. Gould, shall I trust you can take care of your own animals, or would you prefer to join your pet employee in the detention center? I will be happy to arrange either one. Make your choice before I make it for you."

Manditory Ministry Staff Meeting - Page 3 Empty Re: Manditory Ministry Staff Meeting

Post by Zoe Gould Sun Oct 02, 2011 2:22 am

Zoe glared at Zada for a moment longer, before she turned her gaze to Jack, an apologetic look on her face. She swallowed hard, before glancing back at Zada and slowly sitting back down in her chair, her hands folding in her lap. She couldn't leave her department alone to this monster woman. She couldn't believe she had agreed to this whole deal, but she hadn't exactly counted on getting so attached to her assistant, it was one person she could trust, and who she saw almost as much as her secretary. Zoe calmly collected herself for a moment, and then smoothed out her skirt, and looked up, her facial features hard.

She had a responsibility now, she had to make sure her department stayed as unaffected to this change as possible, but it was obvious that changes would happen. Her agreement with Grindelwald certainly hadn't lasted longer, and she somehow knew in the back of her mind that she knew it wouldn't. He wasn't a man to be trusted, but for now, she had to go along with it, and act as though she agreed with his decisions. She knew she had to play her part even more, she may hate monsters, but she didn't hate people... that was for sure.

Post by Ne'Os Emof Sun Oct 02, 2011 2:29 am

Ne'Os stood and turned to the two guards that came to give him his summons his arm slowly went into his robes as he gripped his wand but decided against it and accepted the summons "Of course Miss Forbes I shall appear at the correct time and date as the summons says and i will clear up this silly accusation" he said grabbing the summons from the guard and then read it. "I hope you don't expect me to go to some silly room so that i don't disappear" he said still reading the summons and then looking up he continued " your guards would have to go to St Mungoes for burn injuries."

He rolled up the summons and gave her a small bow before turning and walking away making sure to turn invisible just encase she did expect him to sit in a small room. He made it to a fireplace and disappeared in a flash of green fire.

Manditory Ministry Staff Meeting - Page 3 Empty Re: Manditory Ministry Staff Meeting

Post by Jess Potter Sun Oct 02, 2011 2:31 am

Jess snapped out of his stupor as Zada started to talk, it appeared that they were finally cutting down the fat and launching into business - about time too, things were starting to get dull.

But what was said came as a bigger surprise than any, without notice he found himself on his feet, wand in hand and his mouth hanging open slightly.

As the words in his voice finally found his lips he was cut off by a cry of indignation, this one coming from the head of the beast division, cries which were only drowned out by more yelling by Forbes, now turning her aim on Emof, the bully whom he'd just fought with. Suddenly he seemed a lot more pitiable, Ne'os did.

"What are you talking about?" He finally shouted, a look of utter fury on his face. "I am the acting chief of the Wizengamot, the legislative arm of this government. You have no right, nor no power to remove me. it is interference in our laws I tell you. First he," he said, flicking his middle finger up in a gesture to Grindelwald, "illegally ascends to the position of minister, now you're doing this. What comes next, the legalisation of torture and the unforgivables!?" He shouted.

"No, I will not leave, hell will freeze over before I abandon my constitutional role in our country!" He screamed, brandishing his wand around as he did so.
