Oh god! The horror!

Those were Alexis' very thoughts when she saw the Hogwarts Express for the first time. This year she was eleven, and she was to go to Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The thought of going to this school was terrifying to her, but she was also antisipating it. She would be around those just like her, other witches and wizards, who wouldn't judge her if she did something wrong. She looked up at the train and inhaled deeply. However she did not exhale, she held the breath in her mouth, and looked at her father and brother. Her brother was eleven like her, but he didn't seem as scared as she was. Her father looked down at her and smiled, "Breath Lexi. Everything's going to be fine." he told her.

Alexis let the breath she had held in her mouth go and she was calmer. Her hands were still shaking from the fright she felt though. She looked at her father again and sighed. "I wish mother was here..." she said softly, hoping the mother she had never met before would just appear out of nowhere, to see her go off to Hogwarts. However she didn't know that her mother was, in fact, there. But she was watching Alexis from a distance, filled with pride that her daughter was going off to a school where she belonged. "You're mother won't come. You know that Lexi. She left you with me and never came back... she never will." her father said, filling her head with more lies about her mother. "I know Father, I know." Alexis responed to her father, sadly.

The train's whistle blew and Alexis' attention was diverted to the the train. She gasped and turned to her father. "Father we have to get going!" she exclaimed, and grabbed her brother's hand. "Come on Camilo! Or we'll miss the train." she said, already half running to the train. Her brother ran after Alexis, and their father waved at them as they disappeared into the train. "Have a good year! And remember I will love you no matter what house you're sorted into!" Were the last words Alexis heard from her father. The train whistle drowned out the rest, and Alexis felt the train lurch forward.

Alexis and Camilo walked down the corridor of the train together but got seperated since they each went into a seperate compartment, empty of all others but them. Alexis set her owl down on the seat next to her, and she sat by the window and pulled her legs to her stomache, feeling her fear coming back. She was just a young first year, alone on the train, without anyone to talk to in her compartment.

"And do not forget to make the Marcheti name look good son."

Aaron rolled his eyes as his father pushed him along to the Hogwarts Express. That was all his father ever worried about was the family name. It did not matter if Aaron did great at school, or how good he was for the Quidditch team, none of that mattered. All that did matter was that he represented purebloods to the fullest.

This was his third year at Hogwarts, and so far he had been nothing short of a disappointment to his parents. He was an average student and was known to associated with anyone, no matter their blood line. Aaron was sure that it would never get back to his parents that he had made a few non pureblood friends, but it had, and he had been punished dearly for it.

Aaron remembered how excited he was when he had been picked as an alternate for the Slytherin quidditch team. He had written his father in excitement only to get a letter with the words: Focus more on school. The feeling that washed over him killed off any excitement he would have had about making the team.

Still, Aaron was optimistic for his third year. He was also ready to get away from his parents and get back to school. He loved his parents and looked up to both of them, but sometimes he just needed to get away. Today was one of those days, and when the Hogwarts express came into view, a large smile spread across his face. He exchanged a few more pleasantries with his parents before he bounded towards the train.

His curly blonde hair bounced on his head as he tried to find a spot on the train. He knew his friends would be on the train somewhere, but he was looking more for a quiet place to relax his mind. He had seen them all summer and would be able to talk to them once he got to Hogwarts. The express was always one of his favorite places because he loved meeting new people.

After a few minutes of struggling down the train, he finally found a compartment with only one person in it. It was a younger girl who looked terrified. Aaron assumed she was a first year and decided she could use a little cheering up. With a grin, he entered the compartment and was very cheery. "You don't mind if I sit in here with you?" He said happily, dragging his trunk in behind him.

He quickly began to put his things up in the compartment across from her before talking. "I remember the first ride to Hogwarts. It was terrifying." He finished putting all of his things up and he plopped down on the seat directly across from her. "I am going to get lost, no one will like me, what if I am not as magical as the school thinks I am. All of that, its the worst." He smiled brightly, again trying to cheer her up. "The good news is, it isn't so bad."

"I am Aaron by the way." He said with a slight wave of his hand.

Alexis lifted her head from her lap and nodded at the boy who had asked to sit with her. She needed at least one other person with her, just so she didn't feel so lonely and out of place. She watched him place his things in the compartment, and looked at the floor when he sat down opposite of her. He began to talk and Alexis found herself zoning out, not really because of him, but because that was just what she did. For some reason she always zoned out when someone talked to her, or just when she was staring at something.

He introduced himself and Alexis snapped back to reality. She looked at him and she blinked a couple of times. "I'm Alexis." she said softly. "Alexis D'Eath." she added even softer. She wanted to smile at him, but she didn't want to risk revealing her fangs. She was always conscious about her fangs, knowing that her father was a vampire, and her mother was human, so that made her a half vampire. But she didn't like to admit it. She didn't like being a half vampire, it was something embarrassing to her. And she knew that if anyone found out what she was, they would pick on her. Her father had told her that the students who were humans didn;t always accept students who were not, and Alexis didn't want to be one of those students who didn't get accepted.

She looked at the boy again, and felt herself smile, but ever so slightly. She smiled just enought so he could tell that he was cheering her up, but not anymore so her fangs would show. "I hope it's not going to be that bad." she said softly. "This will only be my first year, so I hope everything goes well." she added worriedly. Being a first year was going to be hard for her, she knew. She had only two houses she wanted to be sorted into, but she doubted she would get into them. She wanted to get sorted into Gryffindor or Ravenclaw. Her mother had apparently been a Slytherin, so Alexis didn't want to be sorted into that house because of her mother, and Hufflepuff was just to... soft for her.

The boy seemed older than her so she figured that he was about a thrid or fourth year. That meant he had already been sorted into a house, and she suddenly became curious as to what that house was. She sat up inher seat eagerly, forgetting about her fangs and she smiled widely. "What house are you in?" she asked him very curiously, her smile growing wider.

A day of fright Empty Re: A day of fright

Post by Aaron Marcheti Wed Sep 14, 2011 4:20 pm

He could tell right away that she was a rather timid one, which was OK because most first years were. She was only eleven years old and about to embark on a seven year journey where she would discover a whole lot about herself that she did not even know. Aaron remembered when he had first come to Hogwarts. All of the excitement, nervousness, and anxiety that had gone into his first trip there had almost overwhelmed him. But now he was a different person and held nothing but excitement in check for Hogwarts.

She introduced herself as Alexis and Aaron smiled brightly back at her, trying to make her feel a bit more comfortable. "Pleasure to meet you Alexis!" He said, maybe a little to chipper for his own good. Sometimes he found it hard to distinguish the difference between being nice and being overly friendly. The other kids he hung out with would often make fun of how nice he was to other houses, but he did not care. He had yet to discover the fun in berating people. It got him nowhere but in detention.

When she commented on Hogwarts again, Aaron decided he would completely quell any questions she might have towards the school. "Don't worry in the slightest! Hogwarts is awesome! There is plenty of food, which you will see in a few hours. The school is huge and exploring it is probably the most fun you will have. I have been there for, this will be my third year, and I still discover new stuff every time I go there. And as for friends... well yes there are a lot of people there but all that means is there is more of a chance to meet people who have the same interests as you do."

He realized he had been talking for a long time and he quieted down, pressing himself further into his seat. He still had a small smile on is face, but he gave his words a second to settle before he continued. He liked to talk and if the other person let him he could keep going for hours, rambling about non sense.

When she asked what house he was in his smile faded slowly. This was always the weirdest part for him because Slytherin had a bad rep. Aaron was not a bad kid by any means. He had some of the traits, not all, of a person from Slytherin. But he got the blunt end of the stick from which all the bad rumors came from. He was proud of his house, but he was not proud of the way people viewed it. "Well...." He started, for the first time seemingly not wanting to speak. "I am in Slytherin. BUT that doesn't make me a bad kid. I am just very cunning and do what it takes to get where I need to be."

Alexis could tell by the way he was talking that he didn't know her family name. It came as a huge surge of relief to her, knowing that he most likely didn't know, anything about her family's name, about the disgrace of a pureblood wizard being turned into a vampire. Most people, including her father, probably didn't think that it was a disgrace to be turned but Alexis thought it was the worst disgrace that could come to a pureblood family.

Now this even affected her mother's family, even though Alexis knew nothing of this, the Leslie family was still being affected not only by Lorcan D'Eath being turned into a vampire, but also by the fact that Hayley had a not one child but two children with him. Hayley had twin daughters that knew nothing of her, after Lorcan took them from her. The Leslie family has been working on getting Antioniette and Alexis back from Lorcan, but they aren't having much luck. Because of their attempts to try and get Hayley's daughters back, Lorcan has made it his mission to fill his daughter's heads with lies about their mother. Alexis believed her father, but still knows nothing of the attempts, she believes that Hayley just abandoned her with her father.

Alexis smiled again as he explained how Hogwarts was. "I've heard alot about Hogwarts, and now I really want to see the castle." she said happily, and she glanced out the window. "Ooh, it's getting dark, that means we're getting close to Hogwarts, right?" she asked, her hands pressed to the window, watching the scenery go by fast. She turned her head toward hi again, and sighed. "I don't think I'll make many friends..." she said, and she touched her fangs with her tongue, feeling her eyes begin to change colors. She took a deep breath and exhaled, trying to keep herself calm so her eyes remained their normal color.

Her eyes narrowed when he said he was in Slytherin. The one house she hated the most because of her mother, and that was the house Aaron was in. She felt her eye twitch a little, and she bit the inside of her lip. "Oh, Slytherin..." she said softly. "I know not all Slytherins are bad... but my mother was apparently one... and now she's gone... I never even met her." she said, feeling angry at her mother for abandoning her.

Aaron decided he liked the girl right away. He was usually very good at pegging people when he met them, but like anyone, he could be wrong. The way he looked at it, what bad could come from a first year female who was really nervous about attending Hogwarts? If anything, he could help her get to the castle and maybe they never talk again.

He peered out the window and just as he did, the castle slowly came into view. He smirked and then bounced in his seat while waving his hand at her. "Look look! There it is!" He said excitedly. For whatever reason, he was just as excited for her seeing the school as she was. The castle was still a breathtaking sight, even though this was the third time he had seen it come into view. He loved it, the place was his home.

When she said she might not make many friends, Aaron shrugged his shoulders and slumped back a little bit before smiling at her. "I mean.... I will be your friend?" He said in a half question half statement. He liked making new friends, mostly because he was a social butterfly, and the more friends he had the more he could talk. "I mean, if you want to be friends with a Slytherin." He smiled brightly, trying to cheer her up.

Before he knew it though, the express was slowing down. Quickly he stood up and began to gather his things and he motioned for her to do the same. "We will be going a different path at first. You will be going on a boat across the lake and I will be in a carriage." His trunk hit the ground with a THUNK, but he did not act phased by it. "Afterwards, if you want, we can meet in front of the house score glasses. You cannot miss em, and then I can show you around?"

Who cares if he is a Slytherin? He seemed nice enough, maybe a little too nice to be in Slytherin, but Alexis had learned from a young age not to judge a book by it's cover. But either way he was nice and that was all that mattered. Alexis smiled at him, and looked out the window for a while. Now she was nervous about being sorted, because where ever she got sorted, there was a big chance that she might never see Aaron again, and she didn't want that. She wanted to keep him in her heart and mind as a friend, and not just some kid that she met on the Express and she never saw again.

She became a little startled as he began to wave his hand at her, boucing in his seat. She quickly looked out the wondow, and a wide grin crossed her face. "That's Hogwarts?! It's so pretty!" she exclaimed happily, her hands pressed against the window again, not taking her eyes off the beautiful castle in front of her. Her nervousness vanished for just a brief moment, as she took in the amazing sight of Hogwarts, of her new school. Her new home.

Her eyes seemed to sparkle as he said he would be her friend. She jumped out of her seat and hugged him tightly. "Yes! I don't care if you are a Slytherin!" she said, and she suddenly pulled away from him, her face burning and turning red from her actions. She tried to calm herself down, and make her face turn back to normal. But all she did was stare at him, a shy smile on her mouth and she blushed harder. "I-I mean... I'd really like that." she smiled at him, brushing her bangs out of her eyes.

The Express began to slow down, and her nervousness came back, and she blushed again, harder. He began to grab his things, and she wuickly stood up and did the same. When he said they would go a seperate path for a while, she looked at him quickly, her eyes wide from fright. "Oh... I thought we were going the same way... I guess not..." she said sadly. When he offered to meet up afterwards and show her around, she smiled brightly again, "Yes! Please?!" she said in a half question.

Aaron was unsure of what to do when she hugged him, so he gave a weak one armed pat on the back as she did so. He chuckled slightly to himself and had to admit he kind of enjoyed it. It was not often that he got hugs and it was at that moment that he realized neither of his parents ever really hugged him. He did not dwell on the thought long, it was a depressing one and he was not interested in being depressed.

When she said she would like it if he showed her around, he beamed brightly at her and then walked with her off of the express. Once off, he waved goodbye to her and then he met up with a few of the people he recognized from the year before. They were not his friends per say, but they noticed him and the company was nice. So they rode together towards Hogwarts and they also sat together for dinner, though Aaron did not speak much to them.

He kept to himself and then he heard Alexis's name being called. His head shot up and he watched as the sorting hat was placed on her head. For a few moments he really hoped she would be sorted into Slytherin, but for some reason he knew she wouldn't. When he heard she was sorted into Ravenclaw, he sunk his head down low, knowing their friendship would not last very long.

He slowly ate his food once it was in front of him and he wondered the whole time if she would actually meet him. It was a busy day for her after all and she had probably met so many people by now that she had forgotten him. He took a deep breath and powered through his meal, trying his hardest to push her from his memory. He did not want to think about it too much, it was just a one time meeting.

Once dinner was over he considered just going down to the dungeons and getting some rest. He looked at the hourglasses and then shrugged his shoulders. He casually strode away from the crowd and he squatted down by the glasses. He did not want to wait long, because if he did, a prefect would come along and shoo him away. He let out a sigh and then pulled his legs up to his chest, waiting patiently.

Nervousness finally won the battle going on in her body as she got off the Express and she looked at Aaron once more, and she waved bye to him, and she went onto the boat that was to take her to Hogwarts. She didn't have any friends now, and she was scared, definately scared. What was she going to do now? No one knew her and she didn't know anyone else there with her. She kept to herself as they went on the ride to the castle, that was her new home. She sighed heavily as the boat stopped and they were instructed to get out and line up as they walked into the castle. As soon as they entered it, Alexis couldn't help but look around excitedly, the place was so much bigger than she expected it to be, and she was overwhelmed by the size.

The were all led into the Grand Hall, and they were told to wait in front for their names to be called, a rush of nervousness and anxioutiy flow through her body as she waited patiently for her name to be called. She took the time to look for Aaron, but she couldn't find him and her spirits sank lower and lower with every passing moment that she couldn't find him. Finally she heard her name, and with some stiff steps at first she came up to the front and sat down on the stool. The Sorting Hat was placed on her head and she wished with all her might that she wouldn't be placed in Slytherin, even if it was the house where her friend was.

The Hat seemed to notice this and he immediately placed her in Ravemclaw. She sighed in relief and practically ran over to the Ravenclaw table, immediately being greeted by the older members of Ravenclaw. She smiled at each of them, and once the feast finally began, she watched as the others stuffed their faces with the food. She didn't really touch her food, she was thinking about Aaron... and what would become of their friendship now that she had been sorted into Ravenclaw. They wouldn't see each other often and she was getting very sad about that.

Once the feast was over, a few of the second and third year Ravenclaw males offered to take her to Ravenclaw tower. They were obviously infatuated with Alexis even though they had just met her, and when she turned their offer down and ran to the hourglasses where she had agreed to meet Aaron, they looked at her sadly and watched as she approached the Slytherin boy, whom they were jealous of now. Finally they just left for the tower and left her alone to talk to Aaron. "Hi!" she exclaimed happily as she neared him, screeching to a halt before she tripped over her own foot and fell over on him. "Oops!" she said, as she quickly got off him and brushed her bangs out of her face, showing her face, red of embarrassment again. "Sorry about that." she said softly, her face burning even more.
