A smile played on Gellert's lips as he watched the news of his ascension sink in with the people gathered, imprinting upon their minds in just the way he'd hoped for it to. Even as he was speaking the applause had started to ring through the atrium, echoing off the walls and magnifying itself till little else could be heard.
He noticed a small commotion and smirked as Jess Potter, supposed leader of the Order, and member of the Wizengamot, shouted something with a furious look on his face, before turning on his heel and walking out, followed by...
no, he was dead wasn't he. One of the ex-ministers for magic was walking through the atrium before his very eyes, fighting the throng of the crowd to leave the room with Potter.
This was a problem, he knew that Kingsley was a much respected member of society... but he knew that he was dead too, maybe he was wrong on all counts, one could only hope as much in the time being.
And slowly more voices were rising out of the applause, a few heated ones reaching Gellert's ears and causing him to frown, looking for its source and spotting a girl yelling angrily at him, oblivious of the threat his men posed to her.
Even as he thought this he saw movement to his side and grinned as he noticed Emof pointing his wand subtly at her, no doubt causing her abrupt departure from the room.
"Now," he shouted, his voice silencing the applause. "I must ask that you keep your ears to the ground, know that your Ministry will actually be your ministry from now on, we will be protecting your interests, and to do that we will need your help. If you have any information you feel will be of any help to us at all, please, do not hesitate to give it to us, any delay could be the difference between life and death for our world," he said, a look of concern and severity on his face.
"You must all leave now, go back to your homes, and prepare yourselves, keep your eyes open, and your ears keen, and we will prevail!" He shouted out, a massive grin on his face as the crowd roared.
"That went well," he muttered to James after tapping his throat. "Now, I'm off to my office," he said, walking away from the podium, in the direction of his new office.
