Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Revelation--Atrum Empty Revelation--Atrum

Post by James Roland Sat Aug 13, 2011 8:08 pm

James Roland had been given the honor of introducing the new Minister of Magic. The announcement had been sent out that a new Minister had been put into office. No explanations given.

It seemed as if the entire British wizarding world had turned out for this announcement. Roland himself had a long history of serving the Ministry and doing it well. He was dedicated. And to announce the new Minister was only appropriate, since he was in charge of Pulbic Affairs. He had supervised making sure that all had been in perfect readiness. As he glanced out from his hidden position in the atrium, he saw clearly that Grindlewald's handselected recruits were in their places, ready to provide their services as bodyguards to the legendary wizard.

Change was about to come to the wizarding world, and Gellert Grindlewald had waited a very long time in order to be able to bring it. This was his moment, and it had been long in coming. Roland checked his watch. It was almost time.

Alex was bored right about now, he had gotten over the fact that his brother had died, even though the fact of his nightmare today, he was fine, he had been forced by his mother to go see who the new minister was, his sister was too, but Alex left the Jones Manor before his sister did, Alex took the Floo power and got into that place.

As Alex looked around as he hadn't been there in a while, he walked to stop and went there to where the Minister would come.

Zada had accompanied Gellert to the Ministry today. She wanted nothing to go wrong now. She had deliberately chosen something not her typical style. She had chosen a light dove gray notched sharkskin dress jacket, with a white camisole, and a pair of trim cut dress slacks that matched the jacket. She wore platinum jewelry, and designer heels that were white and light gray. She looked like the perfect picture of authority and elegance, but not so much as to show up Grindlewald. She was strategically positioned so that he was protected by her wand at all times. She did know he could well protect himself normally, but when he had other tasks at hand, it was difficult to keep one's eyes on everyone all at the same time. She was a formidible bodyguard, and she knew how to do her job and do it well. She kept her wand in her hand, but chose to have it in a rather relaxed position. If anyone foolish enough to think they could get by her to get to him, they would find out that they were sadly mistaken. Appearances could often be deceiving.

Brian was already clear where his allegiance was, and this new minister business was one of the largest loads of horsecrap he'd seen in a long time. He wondered how long it would take for the truth to come out about this "new minister." But he had his instructions, and he intended to carry them out. He stood at the back of the room, in a plain black suit, intending to give no one any reason to start any difficulties. Much as Brian didn't like it, this was neither the place nor the time. He stood, unmoving, merely observing and listening. He could easily pick out Grindlewald's lackeys. They were ready to take out anyone who even looked at Grindlewald crossyeyed. If Grindelwald was halfways intelligent, he would know that a change of ministers never met with a unanimous feeling of sheer bliss. Brian just wanted to watch. Nothing more.

Betta made her way over to where she'd heard that the new minister of magic would be speaking. She was both relieved and anxious by this new change in the Ministry and wondered if things would be any different now from where they were under the previous minister. Her hope was that they would...things hadn't been going all that well up until this point--perhaps it would be turned around under Minister Grindelwald. One could hope.

The Wizarding World was officially taking over Jacks life. He had almost had a heart attack when he got a letter from the ministry, but he was relieved to find out that they weren't interrogating him on anything, even though he hasn't done anything to make them jump. Except maybe become an illegal Animagus. Maybe that didn't really help. Nevertheless, he went. He was astounded by how many people came, and was also a bit scared at the same time. All these people.. waiting for someone to come, it kind of unnerved Jack in a way. But alas, he wanted to see the new guy who was running the place, so he stayed put.

When people said a takeover had happened, they had no idea of the extent of it. For instance, the new minister was being protected by some of the most feared people in the Wizarding World, Zada Forbes, Ne'Os Emof.. oh, and himself. Of course. He knew the murmurs showed that people weren't quite stupid when it came to who was taking over. But maybe people like Zada and himself would get people to stay back. They knew of at least HIS history, and they also knew that he wasn't against taking children of people who stood out against Grindelwald. He stood hidden from view, watching the people in the Atrium. There were a lot of people there.. He smirked, imagining the looks of shock when he stepped out into the open, imagining their disgust, their horror, knowing that someone was taking over who approved of his.. methods.

But for the moment, Felix stood hidden from site, waiting until Grindy needed some extra support. He was thinking about the fact that most people thought Grindelwald was just.. walking in, and not expecting a revolt, oh, they were expecting a revolt, in fact, they were anticipating it. He stood, hidden, but watching people as they moved around, talking, whispering, worrying... He smirked and leaned against the wall, his wand his hand, eyes floating over to Zada, and smirking again. If she thought her presence was going to cause ruffles, it didn't, no one knew who she was... but they would know the second he walked out that something bad was going to happen. As long as nobody went for Grindelwald's life, everything would go smoothly today.

Post by Jess Potter Sun Aug 14, 2011 12:37 am

Jess had been looking over some paperwork in regards to the dark wizard Rupert Thyme, a man who had recently been caught after a bloody spree down Diagon Alley, when a flock of golden Ministry Memos came flying through the office, a group thick enough to block out the light hanging overhead as they soared past.

Drawing his wand Jess feared for the worst, knowing that groups of Ministry Memos never held good news, unless you had been expecting it. The colour had his attention, only Robert had the permission to send a golden memo (representing the Executive Arm of the Government), and he normally would have sent a patronus directly to him, before alerting the rest of the workers. Whatever was happening must have been urgent, and Jess was edgy just thinking about the things that could prompt Robert to act in this way.

Plucking one from the air he unfurled it and felt his stomach drop.

Minutes later he was sprinting out of the Wizengamot Offices, having sent off several patronuses to people who needed to receive patronuses, and having quickly alerted the Order as to what was happening.

Sure enough, as soon as he reached the Atrium a babble of sound met his ears, the byproduct of an entire population of Wizards jostling to reach the front of a crowd, their curiosity piquing.

Looking around he reached into his pocket and re-read the memo he had received, and sure enough the information hadn't changed.

You are invited to the announcement for the new Minister for Magic, to be held in the Atrium of the Ministry of Magic.

His mind racing, he tried to figure out what was happening, who had sent the memos, and what was going to happen now.

"Brian," he shouted, fighting through the crowd to reach a sympathetic face. "What's going on, where's Robert?" He asked

Brian saw Jess approaching, and Jess was understandably upset. Brian didn't have a good way to break any of this to him. "He's alive, if thats what you want to know," Brian said very softly. "Just get a grip, Mate. The show hasn't even started yet. Then, if you want my honest opinion, you and Robert need to call a truce. Fast. You two need each other, and you're about to find out why momentarily. Oh, and by the way, while we're waiting for the festivities to begin, Khaat and I want you to be the godfather of one of our triplets. We had three--not two." Brian knew his timing on that sucked too, but there just didn't seem to be a good time or a good way to break any news at the moment, good or bad either one. And right now, he wasn't able to be free enough to see Jess on a regular basis to find more tactful timing.

Jess nodded, a serious look plastered firmly on his face as he tried to make sense of what was happening. "Well thank god for that. What's all this though? Has he stood down or something? This is crazy," he said, throwing his hands up in exasperation.

"Look, tell Robert that as far as I'm concerned there was never an issue between us. While I wont hide the fact that we had a disagreement, he was as big a part of that... unpleasantness... at Hogwarts as I was. We are at peace, as far as I'm concerned, he's the one who needs to realise that," he said, cocking an eyebrow at Brian. "Still, I wish that he'd told me what was going on here, I'm sure he has an idea then?" he asked, not bothering to try and wrangle the information from brian's lips. All was to be revealed soon, he was sure.

"Wait what," he then said, his mouth hanging open slightly as he grasped Brian's hand and shook it firmly. "Congratulations my friend, and I would be honoured. Please, pass on my best wishes to Khaat and the family," He said, a shocked tone thick in his voice. "I just wish it was under different circumstances I could've found out," he said, glancing at the podium and rolling his eyes as he spoke.
