So, like I said in my PM which I'm about to send you all (This had to come first so I could embed a link
) we want to avoid having 5 versions of the stern teacher, or five versions of the evil teacher.
To avoid this, I'd love it if you all were to just discuss your teaching style here. While I don't want to see anyone changing their characters completely and making them something you no longer wish to play, it'd be great if you were to just discuss how you may make your teacher not be a carbon copy of someone else's.
Of course there's gonna be overlapping, and you might all ignore this. I'm cool with that, but keep in mind that this is a job, and if you're not working at a satisfactory level, we may be forced to request your resignation. (Don't worry, we'd try and work out any problems with your first, you wont just receive a "You're fired" PM completely out of the blue.)
But I don't like doing that, so you've little to worry about there.
There's also some changes in Hogwarts this year which will be discussed further in this forum, so make sure that if you come on and see that there's new replies here, you at least pop into a topic and say "I understand." or "I don't care" just so i know not to chase you up with 1000r7985832d PMs.
Yes, that is a number, thoust shalt not question thy admin!
So yes, post here and tell us about your intended teaching style, what sort of ways you plan on running classes, and what activities you have planned. Remember that the wackier the class is, the more fun it will be. Sitting down and taking notes has been found to be dull. If you're strapped for ideas, or aren't sure how to make your classes fun, i know for a fact that Damon Ambrozje posted a brilliant guide last year for staff members, worth a read from each of you.
I mean, if Hogwarts was filled with Snapes, you'd hate it (until the last book... *Tear wells in eye*) so that's why Rowling had a mix of teachers, the imbecilic Lockhart, Abysmal Quirrel, Stern but kind hearted McGonagal... trelawney, can i even think of a name for her? You get the picture, and if you can't think of your own teaching style, maybe even look at taking aspects (not copying -_-) of their teaching styles and incorporating them into your own.
Hope you're all well, and I look forward to seeing your classes!
Jess.
