Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Peace Rally Outside the Ministry Empty Peace Rally Outside the Ministry

Post by Emmett Fisher Mon Jul 18, 2011 9:08 pm

Emmett and his group were standing outside the Ministry, uncaring of what people walking by thought- it was not as if they were breaking the Statue of Secrecy. Emmett held his acoustic guitar, strumming it. Behind him, Davie sat cross legged, tapping his palms against some hand drums. Coby was strumming a madolin, Rachel was playing a fiddle- she was taught in classic violin, but Coby had been teacher folk- and Ivy tapped a tamborine, while holding a sign above her head that said "If War Is The Answer We're Asking The Wrong Question."

He was singing the song Blowing in the Wind and a few of his more adamant supporters sang along as they faced the Ministry. The others held signs, too. Signs like There Is No Path To Peace - Peace IS The Path and How Many Lives Per Galleon. Out in the crowd a young girl held up a sign that said No Hittin while her older sister bore one that read If You Are Not Outraged You Are Not Paying Attention. Others read, Anything War can do, Peace can do better; An Eye for an Eye Leaves the Whole World Blind, and Collateral damage means brothers and sisters.

They were getting bolder, that much was clear. Emmett just wondered if they would get any attention anyway. He wondered if anyone from the Ministry would actually confront them, and what means they would take to stop them. But for now, all he could do is stand in front of his following singing, as they began to pick up the words too and sing along.

Peace Rally Outside the Ministry Empty Re: Peace Rally Outside the Ministry

Post by Wilhelmina Abercrombie Mon Jul 18, 2011 9:48 pm

Wally had heard about this peace, antiwar rally thing outside the Ministry and mentioned it to her sister who got her knickers all in a bunch. Apparently, this Emmett fellow was ‘sooooo dreamy, and so delicious and absolutely going to be mine one day!’ Basically, it was pretty much a given that Wally was going to be able to go. She was curious, she wanted to observe what was going on there. See if they actually achieved anything.

Her mother decided to drop them off on her way to work so she apparated the girls outside the Ministry before leaving. Immediately, her gushing sister froze up and began begging Wally to leave. Wally ignored her and plunged into the crowd. The music was actually sort of pleasant- not very loud, but not terrible. She rather liked the looks on everyone’s face. This quiet determination. It was interesting and she was not sure if she should relate to it, or laugh at it.

She saw that people were holding up signs and that not far away was a small table, full of blank signs of all sizes, shapes, and colors. She strode over and picked up too, both large rectangular ones. There were sharpies scattered everywhere and she was struck with inspiration. She wrote a slogan on each in block letters before making her way into the crowd.

She stood there and put up the first sign that read I Was Promised Donuts. She had a straight expression and she held it up for a few minutes before replacing it with the other. THIS IS A SIGN. It felt nice to be making a difference.
