Ada was carefully applying makeup in front of her Mum's mirror at 10 minutes to 8:00. She had finally told her parents about her date, and of course, they flipped out. Typical parents. Her mum had been the first one to come to her senses, and helped her choose a not-fashion-violation outfit, and let her borrow some of her lighter makeup. She looked fine for a casual dinner and a movie. She took another glance at the clock, and saw that it was 5 minutes to 8:00. "Mum, Dad, it's almost time for me to go!" She yelled.
"Alright honey! Come on down!" Ada put on the last few touches, and slipped on her shoes. She took a glance in the mirror, and felt a surge of gratitude towards her mother. She had picked out a simple, fashion-friendly outfit, one that Adele would never have thought of. She walked down the stairs, and into her Mum's open arms.
"Have fun tonight, and stay safe. We love you, and don't mind your father. He is just having a little bit of trouble accepting that you're growing up." That didn't sound like her Dad, but it didn't matter. She quickly hugged her Dad, and went out her front door at 5 minutes past 8:00.
