Goodbyes are always hard

Victorie woke up early in the morning. Her so called parents had spent the night before fighting and packing. Ronny nad told them about the boy wit hthe same las name that had been on her Hogwarts letter. She had also told them about Ryo. They didn’t seem to like that and told her that they where moving. The wouldn’t tell her where they where moving to but that she would not be seeing her friends again and that she’d be going to a new school next year.

“Victoeri are you up?” her so called mother yelled from down stairs.

“Yeah,” she called back glumly.

“Then get your stuff and get in the car.”

“I’ll be there after I take a shower.” she said
Before getting in the shower she sat on the floor where her bed use to be and began to write a leter to Ryo. It read….


She had started crying as she wrote. Wippeing away the tears as she stood and walked over to her owl she gave him a treat and the letter. “Take it to Ryo,” she whispered before he flew away.

Quickly she took a shower and got dressed in the only clothes where not packed or dirty before going down staris. She went outside and got in the car, her I-pod in hand and the ear buds in her ears. She had hueard a lot of fighting last night and didn’t want to hear any more. Soon there where driving off to who knows where.

Victorie turned in her seat and watched the only home she had ever know dissapper in the distance. She was saying goodbue to every thing and everyone. Turning around more tears foomed in her eyes. “Goodbye life,” she whispered but her parents didn’t acknolage it if the heard it.

Ryo hadn't been able to sleep very well the night before. He felt as if something or someone he cared about was being taken away from him. All morning he couldn't shake the feeling, no matter how much he tried. Like usual his uncle wasn't being much help, he just paid attention to Sayuri. "How come she gets all the attention?" he said sourly, and before anyone could respond, he stormed out of the house and made his way to Hogsmeade. Luckily his uncle's house wasn't to far away from the small village.

Ryo sat down near the rock where he had first met Victorie. He had almost forgotten about her. Ryo hadn't talked to her in a while, since the summer started actually. He had promised to stay in contact with her, but he had forgotten with all the chaos at his uncle's house. And with the commotion of his upcoming birthday(and Sayuri's as well.) He heard a squwak come from the distance and he stood up.

He recognized the owl that was coming toward him, it was Victorie's owl and it had something in it's mouth. It stopped in front of him and dropped the letter in his hands, before flying away. Ryo reached out to try and stop it, but it was out of his reach. He looked at the letter and opened it. He looked it over and covered his mouth covering his quivering lip.

"I'll have two Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans please!"

Adele said, handing a few knuts to the employee at the register. She had come to Hogsmeade with her parents, and had decided to stop at Honeydukes. She took her sweets, and exited the shop. She opened a bag, and took out a bean. It looked like a harmless cherry flavor, so she plopped it in her mouth. Mmmmm, delicious. She was not so lucky with her second bean. "Ew, I think that was earwax." Ada said as she spat the bean on the ground.

Adele decided to put her sweets away, and waved her parents over from the Three Broomsticks. They had never been to the village before, and they wanted to see everything the town had to offer. "Honey, did you know that Butterbeer isn't beer with butter in it? Who would have thought!" Ada rolled her eyes. "Yes Mum, and cockroach clusters are actual cockroaches. The Wizarding World is avery strange place." Her parents nodded vigorously, and rushed off to Zonkos. Ada decided that her parents would be fine, and turned to ho to the Shrieking Shack. As she walked, her mind started to wander as it usually did.

I wonder how my brother's doing...I wonder how do derigibale plums taste...Who invented sweets...Why is that boy sitting alone on a rock...wait, what? Adele veered off the path, and approached the boy. He looked a little bit upset, and was holding what looked like a letter in his hand. Never one for beating around the bush, she went right up to him, and asked him what was wrong.

"Is everything alright? You look a little worse for the wear."

Ryo stared at the letter in disbelief. Victorie was gone? He couldn't believe it, his first love was gone now. The feeling he had had all morning was that Victorie was gone. He had tried to fight back the tears that threatened to fall from his eyes, but it was no use. They started to roll down his cheeks, and he didn't wipe them away. He closed his eyes for a moment, not wanting to look at the letter anymore. But he soon reopened them and looked at it again. Her parents were making her move?

Ryo looked up at the girl who had approached him, and he wiped his eyes. "I- I'm fine." he said, his voice breaking from the tears that kept falling from his eyes. He wasn't okay, and he wouldn't be for a while. He wondered if he could track Victorie down, so he could see her, but it would be impossible. He didn't even have anything to go by. He only had the letter, and the owl who delivered it was long gone now as well.

There was nothing he could do. He looked back down at the letter and read it once more, before folding it and holding it tightly in his hand. You were my first love too, Victorie. he thought, as more tears fell, adn he wiped them away with the sleeve of his shirt.

The boy said he was fine. But judging by the fact that tears were falling down his cheeks, Ada suspected that everything was most certainly not alright. "Are you sure? You look like someone who needs a hug. Or chocolate." Chocolate was the answer to the worlds problems. Too bad she didn't have any.

"So, what's wrong? I don't mean to pry, but a person has to be very upset to be crying. Did something happen to a family member?" Ada felt like she should sit next to the boy, or maybe see what was written in the letter. That wasn't being too nosy, right?

"Oh, and what's your name? I'm Adele Somers, but you can call me Ada."

Ryo looked at the girl and shook his head. "I'm fine, honestly." he said, wiping the tears away again. "I don't really like chocolate..." he laughed softly, before clearing his throat. "A hug wouldn't be bad though." he said to himself. He rubbed his eyes and smiled at the girl. He hoped he didn't start crying again, he hated when he cried in front of people.

"Nothing happened to my family. But it has to do with someone I really care about." he said and he extened the letter to the girl. He didn't care if she read it. Plus if she did someone would understand what he was going through.

"Nice to meet you Ada. I'm Ryo Hiroku." he said, enad he extended his handagain to shake hers.

"Nice to meet you Ryo." Ada took the letter, and shook Ryo's hand. She sat down on the rock next to Ryo, and quickly read the letter. "First love, huh? I bet she was a special person. Victorie? That's a pretty name." Ada gave the letter back, and set her hand on his shoulder. "I'm sorry she had to leave without warning. I couldn't imagine what I would do in your situation." Ada gave a dreamy sigh.

"But that's not very helpful, is it? Do you still want a hug? Cause, you know, you don't like chocolate." I guess we all can't bow down to the heavenly substance named chocolate. Her mind started to drift into a chocolatey state of mind, and she almost forgot where she was. Ah, chocolate. So delicious

Ryo took the letter back from Adele and sighed. "Yes, she was a very special person to me. I loved her alot." he told her, his eyes changing color to gray. He felt his eyes change color, and he tried to cover his eyes so she wouldn't see his eyes changing color. He didn't want anyone else to know he was a vampire. Victorie and Sage were the only ones who knew besides his family, and now they were both gone. Why did this happen to him? What did he do wrong, to have someone he loved or cared about taken away from him?

"Yeah, I guess it is." he said in response to what Adele said about Victorie's name. He looked at her hand on his shoulder and sighed. "I don't think anyone could imagine what to do right now. It's a hard blow to your heart." he said softly. "Hug? Sure I guess..." she said softly, almost in a whisper. He did need a hug, from anyone really. He didn't care, he needed someone to try and comfort him.

Adele nodded in an understanding way, oblivious to Ryo's eye color changing. She wrapped her arm lightly around Ryo, moving close enough to him so that she could comfortably hug him, but not so close that it would be awkward. "I know a hug probably won't help a lot, but I find they help take pain, emotional and physical, away. From my experience, anyway."

After a few moments, Adele removed her arm, resting it gently in her lap. "I hope that made you feel better." she said softly. A small smile formed on her face as she remembered how her brother used to hug her like that after a rough day at elementary school. It always made her feel better. "I'm sorry again about Victorie."

Ryo felt his eyes change back to their original color as Adele wrapped her arm around him. He felt like he was with Victorie again, when they were on their first date. His eyes closed themselves, and he wrapped his arms around Adele. He felt his eyes filling with tears again, and he opened his eyes. He looked at Adele and felt his eyes dry up. He leaned in closer to her, but pulled back and turned his head away from her, to hidenhis face. What was he doing? Did he just try to... kiss her? He didn't even know her.

"You're right. Hugs do take some pain away, but they won't take it all away." he said, his head still turned away from her. "I - It did. Just a little." he added softly. He sighed and tried to forget about what he had just about done. "Thanks. I'm gonna miss her."
