GENERAL APPEARANCE:
Hermione takes much more interest in her appearance now than she did when she was in school. If anyone asked, her excuse would be that people just won't take you seriously unless you look completely flawless, but like any woman, Hermione secretly likes the pampered feeling that beautifying potions and even just bath oils and moisturisers can bring. She would never admit to such a thing since she sees that kind of vanity as a flaw.
While in the past, she tried to smooth out her hair, nowadays she finds it easier to keep it curled, because at least then any flyaway frizz (which often appears when she is flustered or irritated) can be hidden among the rest of the mess.
A leftover from her time at the Ministry, Hermione tends to wear smart-casual clothing when taking classes. She can be found more dressed down on weekends and early in the morning and late evening, however.

PERSONALITY:
Although she is often praised for her intelligence and talent, Hermione's gift is actually the ability to research and learn. Because of this, she has trouble accepting people who have a more instinctive view of the world and can be reluctant to believe anything without sufficient proof.
However, growing older, having her own family and being married to Ron have all contributed to mellowing Hermione out a little over the years. She finds it much easier to see the light side of things nowadays and is less likely to take things as super seriously as she did when she was a teenager.
Working at the Ministry of Magic and getting to know a wide variety of witches and wizards, and especially building a closer friendship with Luna Scamander, has taught her to be more tolerant and to listen to other people's opinions before insisting that hers can be the only right one.

CHARACTER HISTORY

Early Years: Hermione was born in 1979 to a pair of intellectual snobs. Despite the potential for teasing for such an embarrassing name, her parents still thought naming her after Helen of Troy's daugher was a good idea. Likewise, she was encouraged to become irritatingly precocious, a trait that would later cause her to become a social outcast when she got to Hogwarts.
Hogwarts Years: Hermione was surprised to learn she was a witch, and incredibly excited at the prospect. Her first instinct was to learn as much as she could about the wizarding world, both out of a desire to fit in and curiosity about this new world. Unfortunately, this strategy backfired, as she gave the first impression of an oppressive know-it-all.
Her later exploits at Hogwarts barely need repeating, for everyone knows the story of Harry Potter and his friends. Indeed, these days Hermione gets pretty embarrassed if those stories ever get brought up and has a habit of quickly changing the subject when they are.
Adulthood: After her NEWTs, Hermione first joined the Ministry of Magic in the Department for Regulation & Control of Magical Creatures, where she continued her work with S.P.E.W and campaigned for the rights of non-humans.
Two years ago, she obtained a high position in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, where she worked to eradicate the bias in wizarding law on basis of blood purity. However, as her work was always modified by the legal process, she felt as though she was fighting a losing battle.
When she heard teachers were needed at Hogwarts, the opportunity for a complete career change was especially appealing, considering she was already disillusioned with her current position.
