Wardrobes and wonders will never cease (Khaat)

Jess nodded and started on some side dishes that she knew of and smiled feleing usefull.

Jack loked at Robert and chuckled but then as he told them that some would move he groaned " aww no " he said and looked at it again " ok I can do this " he said more for his own reasurance than anybody elses. He looked at steven and spoke again " do you think you can do it?" he asked .

Steven looked at jack and chuckled " hey I'll be at your side if you get changed for coming last we both do " he said just proud he was going to do it as a full human than a ware this time . Steven looked at the course and nodded " yes weboth can do this ,Robert we're ready" he said and nodded " jack we can do this " he said and looked back at Robert hoping his confidence would not be his downfall.

"Then lets be off," He said, beginning at an easy pace for the run of the five laps. He decided he was going to keep just an easy pace at it. This was not about who got through with the five laps first. It was merely about whether they could finish or not. Robert was interested in seeing who had energy when the laps were finished and who was completely done in. He intended to give them a rest, but not for very long.

Khaat woke upstairs and found Brian had drifted back to sleep. She got up and found that she could stand, and with a bit more intention and focus, she could walk. She made it to go and freshen herself up. She was not injured, she found. Nothing except for the marks from the chains on her wrists and ankles. She sat for a long while on the edge of the vanity, just looking in the mirror and wondering why she just didn't feel like herself. She thought about dressing and decided against it. She saw her robe was laying on the back of a chair. Someone had laid out her favorite one. She put it on and decided to make her way downstairs.

Jack followed Robert and keiran at a paced run he knew it would take most of his energy for the first 3 rounds after that he was not sure how he'd go " ok come on steven " he said and watched steven take off shaking his head as he went with Robert and Keiran.

Jess heard a noise adn moved from the kitchen and into the living room to find Khaat " well good evening " she said and smiled " would you like some tea or coffee? " she asked gently as she moved to face her with s soft smile .

She wanted coffee, but knew her father and Brian both preferred she have tea. Either would have sufficed. She tried to use her voice, but it didn't work. She just sat down heavily, giving up on trying to talk. She felt completely humiliated. She heard voices outside and jumped, startled. When she got over her initial fright, she realized that what she had heard was merely the sound of Jack, Steven, Kieran and her father finishing their laps around the track, having a good laugh, and Robert was motioning them to rest a few minutes before they started the obstacle course. Robert and Kieran had taken places on the grass.

She looked at her daughters and watched the cats keeping guard on them. Then it occured to her. The cats were parenting her daughters today better than she was. That made her feel like she needed to send both of them to Rob to take care of. She felt very incompetent. She wanted, really, little more in life than to be a good mother. And today that was not happening.

jess looked at Khaat then at the babies frowing at her " don't you dare go there Khaat , your a good perant " she said and pored some tea and handed her a cup " every perant can't be perfect we make mistakes and sending them to Rob is not the awnser , kate me and every one else is looking after them and were happy to do so , so no more of those thoughts ,Rob is not your awnser to every thing " she said and sat her down on a couch " just like your voice it will return in time , I thought the same with andrew after i was found, that first time, remeber , but you perswaded me that everything would be fine and it was" she sat facing her " you and Brian and wonderful perants those girls are growing up perfect"

Khaat smiled. Jess was right. Khaat trusted her judgement. Khaat just nodded. She had worked with cases of this at St. Mungos. They had always resulted form severe trauma, though. She didn't think of herself in that matter. She wasn't traumatized or damaged? Was she? She thought of Felix, then. Perhaps she was. At least in part. In those she had treated, they got better. She could heal others, but she could not heal herself. For some reason, a healer never did usually work well at healing themselves. She was hoping Jess could figure out she was just turning the girls over to her until she felt like she could do a good job of it. She appreciated the support Jess always, always gave her.

Her father had told her once that it was because the healers put out so much of their own energies and used it to direct towards others that they didn't have it left for themselves. The best she knew was that she would have to wait this out.

She watched her father motion the men to their feet and explain the course and what might be different this time. It made her smile just very slightly. They truly had no idea what was coming, and she wanted to see how Kieran stacked up with Jack and Steven and her father.

jess loked at Khaat and smiled feeling she was feeling better in her self " Khaat don't think about it your her and safe what happened has passed " she said then loked at where she looked " ow I hope jack fails im so looking forward to seeing him as a pink rabbit or duck " she said and chuckled " they made a deal " she said and grined " though i don't think steven will , hes too methodical where jack is all go get it ...or was, hes a bit more reserved now" she chuckled again and smiled at Khaat " Im taking it Brian's still asleep upstairs , Im sure he will be alright" she said taking a cup for herself and drinking feeling her own stress's drift away.

Khaat saw her father flick his wand in the direction of the obstacle course. Every obstacle began to move in some direction or another. Khaat's heart was in wanting to change and race down to the obstacle course and show them all up. She was positive she could handle it. She was born to run, to fight, to do these sorts of trainings. But that was off her schedule for the next 7 months at least.

Kieran apparently had been foolish enough to dare her father because she saw that distinctive look of raised eyebrows on his face for a brief moment. And then she saw him flash part of a smile. He was going to accept the dare.

She watched her father carefully negotiate a maze of moving barrels, running through them, and then climbed a fence in which the rails kept raising and lowering at all different heights. He moved onto a pond that got larger and smaller, completely at random--and he apparated across it, narrowly missing the bank as it tried to widen to catch him. He paused and looked back at them. "You lot coming, or are you all just going to watch me?" He shouted.

Jess watched as Robert cleared the pond and stood taunting steven and jack from the other side , steven jumped and almost lost his footing but quickly corrected and ran next to robert jack was not so lucky and landed in the water full face . Jess fought to stifle a yawn that she felt she wanted to give.

" aww hes going to need a warm bath after that " she said and chuckled as she saw him pull himself from the water and continue to the next obstacle and Robert .

Khaat knew that made Jack out of the competition altogether. Robert watched Jack turn and fall flat in the water. He roared with laughter. Khaat managed a smile. She knew if he was going to be changed, now would be the time.

Robert flicked his wand at Jack and made him a goose. A bright, hot pink goose. Kieran laughed.

"Don't laugh, young squib," Robert said. "You might well be next."

"You will change me back, right?" Kieran asked.

"Eventually," Robert said. Kieran headed through the course and appeared to be completely swallowed up by the pond. He proved himself to be a decent swimmer, though, and he tried to swim to the bank. But the bank kept moving away from him. "I suppose I should help you or you shall drown," Robert sighed. He turned Kieran into a fish. A bright metallic green fish. He laughed.

"Are you brave enough to try the next leg of this, Steven? Oh, and Jack, do be so good as to not eat Kieran, please. Brian would be most upset with you." Robert laughed.
