Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Jack was not looking forward to this lesson, because, well.. she did not look forward to any lesson. She considered making a hallway and calling it a labyrinth, but she knew better. Wilson may just make an example of her. He was one of those professors that she thought was an asshole, but sort of respected him for it. Ever since she had shouted at him..

She Summoned some items, nonverbally, of course and spread them out on her desk, beginning to work on her maze. She went about the task mindlessly, so she transfigured one of the objects into a mouse and set it on her shoulder so it could scamper about. This distracted her quite a bit and slowed down her progress, but now she was entertained.

Slowly, but surely, the labyrinth began to form. It was not incredibly complex but some parts of it were rather clever. She set the mouse on her desk and it snuffled about. She then picked up a discarded piece of her work and transfigured it into blue cheese. The mouse sat back on its haunches and sniffed the air. She place the cheese at the end of the labyrinth and picked up the mouse. She transfigured it into the rat- the way Wilson wanted it- and released it to go find his prize.

Lesson 7 - N.E.W.T. Level - Page 3 Empty Re: Lesson 7 - N.E.W.T. Level

James ignored his fellow students his eyes danced around the imaginary outlines a maze he once ran through himself. Normally, he would not have bothered taking out his wand for such a task, but instructions were instructions. No Alchemy today. James focused on summoning the wood first.
Short.
Controlled.
Bursts.

James set to work, setting the pieces in place for the maze, ensuring the "traps" were in place. The complexity of the maze lay in the mouse's little paws, though it would not really understand that. There were points where the maze would cave in, eliminating select paths from the maze, while opening up new ones. James nearly smirked the first time his uncle made him run through this kind of maze. It was not as much fun back then. Perhaps it was wrong of him to take such care in how torturous of a maze he could create, but he was not about to make something easier.

Never.

James concluded his building by tossing a transfigured piece of chalk into the middle. At his beckoning, it popped into a log of swiss cheese. James reconsidered the choice, transfiguring the swiss cheese in cheddar. Sharper scent, more recognizable. He concluded by taking out a ink pot, casting the quick and sudden transfiguration spell that transformed it into a mouse. He looked down as he watched the little critter attempt to scamper its way towards the cheese.

"Good luck," he added darkly as he began to back away the rest of his things. The black rat wouldn't be done for a while.
