Finding Femininity

Robert and Khaat watched Cassidy move outside. "We all see the raw potential in her, Steven," Khaat said. "But it seems like she's fighting against being a part of us. Like as much as she wants to be part of us, its easier to be on her own. Brian deserves better from her. He's twice the fighter of just about anybody I've ever seen, except probably some of the older Order members, like Remus and Sirius, and, of course, Daddy."

"You put me in good company, my dear," Robert laughed. "They didn't really include me in their own bunch when they had the chance, you know."

"And Remus regretted it," Khaat reminded him.

"I think I'll go talk to Brian," Robert said. "Give me a few moments. He'll be fine. I'll be back." He apparated upstairs.

"Brian really should have learned that when we were kids. A locked door never kept Daddy from anything," Khaat smiled. "He used to try to prove it to us by finding how many different ways he could get past a locked door."

Steven looked at Cassidy and sighed she was a good woman to have an an ally but areal pain in the butt when not " your right Khaat" he chuckled at her saying Robert could find a way in threw any door " hum must remember that at shower time" he said hoping to make Khaat at least smile from her to ease the tension that he felt hung in the air around them.

Khaat smiled at Steven's remark. "You know, I remember when Daddy changed himself into an envelope, slid under the door and changed back. Scared the living daylights out of Brian. I laughed til I cried. I doon't know which was funnier--Daddy as flat as an envelope or Brian shrieking like a little schoolgirl."

"How old was he then?" Angus laughed.

"Maybe 12. He was still really angry and bitter at times about the deaths of his parents and how his siblings had basically abandoned him. He never sees them or talks to them anymore. I think that's why loyalty means so much to him. I'm glad Daddy went up to see him. Daddy can make him listen when no one else can."

"That's because Robert is as close to a father as Brian knows," Angus said.

Steven chuckled himself at that thought. " I think any one here sees him like a father figure or mentor " he said feeling the later went for him " we all respect him, that i can tell you " if Steven really thought about it he saw Robert as a father figure too some one he respected and looked up to and went to for advice even if sometimes he was as suborn as a mule and didn't take it only to be proven wrong and Robert right.

Angus decided to help Khaat feel a bit more comfortable. He took her shoes and set them aside and helped her with a few pillows to sit up a bit more. He covered her with a light blanket. Khaat felt like she wanted to be a bit more attentive to the girls, but today she was sore. Tired.

"I'm glad you're all here," she said. "I really don't want the girls to be neglected because I'm not as up to it as I should be."

"Now when have we ever neglected those girls?" Angus laughed."THey're just downright spoiled. Rest up. If nothing else, Steven can take care of them. He might as well practice dealing with two carpet crawlers at one time."

Steven looked at Angus and chuckled " yeah gonna need a lot of that " he said smiling " Khaat don't worry about them , with Delilah due in a few months i need all the practice i can get, i'll play with them and keep them ocupied" he said walking up to the play pen they now sat in hapily playing with the toys inside he smiled thinking he would have two of his own soon but his wedding was coming up fast too that was a day he was loking forward to also .

Brian and Robert seemed to be gone for quite some time, and when Robert came back, he came back alone. Khaat found herself feeling anxious immediately. "Isn't he better?" she asked.

"He's fine. I just sent him on an errand. He's fine. He needed some air and I sent him. Relax," Robert said. "He's alright. He did some venting, and I talked to him, and then I sent him on an errand. You really do need to lighten up. Alright I'm going to leave you for a bit. You rest. Your guards can take care of you for awhile until Brian comes back, I am quite sure. " He kissed Khaat. "I'll see you later. I do have a job to do."

He apparated out. Khaat sighed. "I hate when he does that."

Steven chukled and nodded " seems to do that a lot " he said " he'll be back " he said and rled aball to abbey who roled it back to her he roled aball to abbey and she roled it back to him while he held Dackota in his other while me mad the duck move its head while she would hit it each time he stopped moving it. " you know i never ealized just how mutch attenshion babies need he said placing Dackota in placing Dakota in the play pen with abbey while he fetched two bottles of juice for them returning he gave each a bottle and sat close to it watching them.

Khaat watched Steven interacting with the babies and didnt say a word until Dakota began to smack Abbey over the head with her bottle. Abbey began to scream at once. Khaat flicked her finger, snatching the bottle away from Dakota at once.

Angus stepped over to pick up Abbey, feeling sorry for her. "Kiddo, I really do need to teach you to fight back," he said, soothing her.

"Remus would have liked her," Khaat said quietly. "Abbey likes peace. Love. Family. Those were the most important things in the world to Remus."

"He'd have like both of them," Angus said. "From what your father told me, Remus was quite the adventurer too. He liked fun and challenge for the sake of it."

"He did," Khaat smiled. "But not against one's family. He'd be taking Dakota in hand a bit, I think, sooner or later."

Steven sighed hearing Abbey scream knowing just what had happened and heard Angus' words " she realy should learn to fight back, Dakota hits her wayto often , but shes defiatly takes after you Khaat , kind and generouse " he said smiling " ether that or teach Dakota not to hit others " he said looking at the baby in the pen " makes me wonder what my two will be like , ow boy" he said chuckaling as he imagined two boys fighting in the play pen or two girls pulling each others hair in their teens " I so got a lot of things to relearn" he said and sat back in the chair
