Maddie's arms fell to her sides as she gave Mason a remorseful expression. "I apologize," she said. "Perhaps it would be best if I returned to the common room." They both needed to cool off before their heated argument escalated any further. "I don't want to add to the confusion."

Mason nodded his head. "Yeah that's probably good idea yeah," he said even if he didn't want to leave Maddie but he knew it was best idea here to do. He did let go of Mads too. "I guess I will see you around," he said with bit sad voice. To be honest he knew that tomorrow might be bit tricky, as it's full moon. So he needs to go away for a bit. As he wouldn't end up bitting someone by accident.

Maddison's heart sank as Mason reluctantly agreed, his response eliciting a wave of sadness to wash over her. Slowly, she slid out from between him and the table that had been her support. With a deep sigh, she murmured, "Okay, I'll see you in a few days," her thoughts already anticipating the upcoming full moon.

As she leaned in to gently kiss him on the cheek, Maddison couldn't help but feel a tinge of regret for the separation that was to come. She quietly padded over to the door, her eyes scanning the hallway for any sign of life. With a quick peek outside, she confirmed that the coast was clear.

Turning back towards Mason, she gave him a half-hearted smile, her eyes betraying her emotions. "I love you, Mason," she whispered, her voice barely above a breath. With a final look, she slipped out of the classroom, her heart heavy with the weight of their upcoming separation.
