Apparently Amelia’s struggles with the erklings were not reflected in her peers, for Jack and Brienne seemed to have made quick work of the task. Amelia, on the other hand, was still adamantly chasing after the same tricky creature she had chosen at the beginning, cursing herself for taking so long to even find the stupid thing. She was beginning to wonder if she would have the self-control to cast the Pullus spell if she ever caught up to the impish creature; at this point, she thought herself much more likely to just kick the creature.
Stooping down even further, Amelia spotted her target hiding behind the leg of the professor’s desk, peering around a corner, no doubt in search of Amelia. Figuring this would be her only chance to finally stop running after the creature, Amelia stepped slowly forward so as not to attract its attention, and when she was only a meter or so away, she pointed her wand at the creature, who still thought she would be coming from the other side of the desk, and shouted, “Pullus!”.
The green thing barely had time to react to her voice before the spell wrapped it in light and changed the Erkling to a goose, who promptly started to flap its wings and run around the room, making a ruckus with all its honking. Amelia, however, made absolutely no attempt to chase after the bird, and instead promptly returned to her seat. When the boy sitting next to her gave her a look to inquire whether or not she was going to go capture the honking creature, Amelia merely put up a hand to stop him from asking the question aloud.
“Not a chance,” Amelia said bluntly, as though that were the end of the conversation.
It’s a goose. That’s what he asked for, which means, it is no longer my problem, Amelia stubbornly to herself as she crossed her arms over her chest, thankful that her creature-chasing for the day was over.
