The message has obviously been painstakingly patched together using letters cut or torn from the Daily Prophet:

We may be overrun by Death Eaters taking points unfairly and for no reason but who says we want them?

The keen observer, may also notice the tiny writing, like the sort used for small text in contracts that nobody wants people to read, that has been included right at the very end of the missive:

'Minus points? Really?' Andrew frowned. Well, giving up and actually doing one's best to end up in last place was one way to handle it. It wasn't the way a Gryffindor handled it. A Gryffindor never gave up. Never. Not even when the odds were ridiculous. That was one of the things that sete the Gryffindors apart from the other houses. It was all about principle with the Gryffindors.

Andrew took one of the notices down and sat down with in in the common room. Hm. This might need some careful thinking. Andrew wasn't afraid of the Death Eaters. He had learned far earlier in his life taht there were more things to be afraid of than people in bad masks and their kids who were merely Death Eater wannabes.
