Jack could not help but let her grimace crack into a smirk when the girl began to complain, beginning to chuckle as she went into further detail. Jack was definitely sympathetic to the girl's ails. Jack had started each class getting into trouble with her professors, had then been forced to suffer through hours of boredom, and she had to deal with irritating kiss ups and know it alls. There's a difference between intelligence and pompousness. "Ah, you get used to it. It's like bad itch that won;t go away. After awhile, you know it's there, but you're kind of numb to it."
Jack barked a laugh when Ethel said Aurora's name. She knew the girl, and while they weren't not friendly, Jack did not eagerly seek out her company purposely, for the same reasons Ethel seemed to be irritated by. "I know who you're talking about, and trust me, I feel your pain." She chuckled again and then said, "You'll make friends, they all do."
Then again, she was not the best example of this, seeing as all her friends were either graduated or hated her. She glanced over and saw the boy next to her mutter something. She followed his gaze and saw the pants rip on some Slytherin boy. Jack was all for pranking, but the stuff she did was not bullying. She knit her eyebrows together and said irritably, in a threatening tone, "And what's your major malfunction?"
