Gabrielle's Office

Gabrielle sat in her office on the first day of school feeling some paperwork that had hardly something to do with the school. The time outside was rather inviting though she stayed inside anyway not really wishing to get out now that grounds were filled with alot of noisy students. If they needed something, they would come by themselves so she took a sip of her tea and wrote down many things stopping here and there to reconsider what she was writing or simply day dream a bit.

Ash knocked on the door to the office waiting before she had walked in. She had missed her first lesson, which was not going to look good on her but she needed to explain why and try to find out what she had missed. She wasn't showing yet and that was a good thing, but she knew at least one of her professors needed to know in case she missed another lesson like that. She was so close to finishing that she didn't want to risk failing and having to repeat her final year.

She waited until she had been given some sort of a clue and then walked in. "Professor?" she said as she took a step up to her desk. "Can I talk to you for a moment?" she asked curiously pulling out the little slip of paper she had been given.

(OOC: I signed up for the class but I missed the lesson. :S)

Gabrielle raised her head to face the person that spoke up to her. It was no one she saw before so it was a bit awkward. "Yes ofcourse come on in. I don't remember seing you before Miss ... what is your name again?" she replied as she closed her notebook and put her feather down so she would give the girl all attention she required. "Please do take a seat." she said softly pointing to one of free chairs across her desk.

"McKinley." she replied as she made her way over to one of the chairs and sat down placing her bag on the ground beside her feet. "I was here part of last year, but I dropped out." she explained wondering if that might have been the reason she didn't know the girl, "But I came back to finish my seventh year." She really dispised most of her schooling but she had always had a soft spot for charms.

"I wanted to see about getting my work and explaining to you why I missed the lesson." she said hurriedly giving her the reason she was there. She knew a good bit of the professors didn't like to be bothered too much and a student taking away from their planning could ruin their "free time."

Gabrielle leaned her both hands on the table to look at the girl. "Well Miss McKinley it is then. I reintegrted in Hogwarts staff after a year of pause so i wouldn't really know much of what happened last year." she explained as she crossed her fingers thinking about what to say. This was the first time she was in situation like this. "I don't know why you dropped last year, i'm sure you had your reasons which i don't need to know. But if you have any problems you can come to me even if i am not your head of house. " she said softly sounding more motherly then anything else.

"As Professor i can offer you two solutions. Either i can hold you a private class to make up what you missed or one of your collegues students can show you. So tell me what can i do for you?" she continued sounding like a Professor again which was more like her. Gabrielle was known for being strict though fair.

Ash sat there for a moment, thinking her words very carefully. "Well I would think that maybe a private lesson might be best because its bound to happen again." she said looking at her. "I'm pregnant and I really don't feel quite comfortable telling my other classmates and housemates just yet." she said looking down.

She felt some relief that Professor Delacour had said she could come to her should she need anything. "I decided it was best not to quit school since I'm so close to finishing that I just want to do everything I can to finish on time and I'll do whatever I need to do to make up my lesson or any I miss in the future."

Gabrielle nodded to the girl. It was understandable her absence though the fact that she did mention her pregnancy seemed to relief the atmosphere a bit. "Congratulations then. Baby is always a blessing at any time." she said not wishing to hold up on this point too long as it might be a little uncomftable to talk about it.

"So regarding to your private lesson .. do you feel like doing it now or maybe some other time? Don't worry about me i am free when i'm not on a class so whatever suits you better." she asked softly as now when she didn't work for ministry anymore, she had more free time to dedicate to students.

Ash didn't hesitate for the answer, "If we could do it now that would be awesome." she said with a smile. She figured she would be too busy to worry about giving her a catch up lesson right now and she was ecstatic that she could do it now. She was wanting to get her lessons caught up sooner rather than later. At least while she was feeling up to it at least.

Gabrielle raised an eyebrow as she was expecting an answer later. All students prefered to do it later rather then sooner. "Okay if you want i am avaivable." she said as she got out her notebook to write new student's name in it. "Okay so what we did was not too difficult. As i said to other we'll be doing non-verbal spells this year. So for the start can you tell me 2 spells. One creates water, other one freezes it." she asked wanting to see if the girl was familiar with any of the spells.

The one to create water she remembered immediately, although the freezing water she had to think about for a moment. She was trying to remember everything she had learned before she had left the school the first time. "The spell for for creating water is aguamenti and the one for freezing it is...ah..." she trailed off in thought, "Glacius?" she answered questioning herself slightly, although she was pretty sure that was the answer.
