Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Yes. Which is why we get scholorships. (speaking of which I told myself I was going to study for the A.C.T. today. Haha so much for that. Actually I think I'm going to do that now because I'm feeling guilty.)

^Yeah, if you CAN. There is soooo much competition, and if you want to go to a good school, it's harder to get a scholarship, because more people want to go there, cleverer people, etc. etc. So yeah. I don't know if I could get a scholarship. Well, depending on what it was for...

Well that lasted long. I am back on and I haven't done a bit of studying. Funnily enough though a college recruiter just called me about 5 minutes ago. She was pretty nice.
Yea scholorships are hard to get but you just have to go looking for them. There are alot out there they are just hard to find.

Yeah, but where to start? I need to decide what to study first. I used to want to be a vet, but I'm not so sure anymore. I want to do something to do with animals, but I'm not sure about Biology. I'm very good at it, but it just doesn't, ohh, what's the word, it doesn't come across as something I'd like to study for the rest of my life. Chemistry would be, but not Biology. So I don't know. Maybe maths, I love maths - and my maths teacher, she's the best EVER - but I'm not so sure about that either. I might want to do something creative. It lets me express myself more. I suppose I could always do that as a hobby, but still...

Trust me when I say College is outrageus (sp?). I got through my first 2 1/2 because I was working. The next 1 1/2 btw pell grants and loans that is how I went to college. It's crazy. I'll give you guys some advice (being that I'm older lol). Go to a community college for 2 years and get your associates. Its cheaper than a university. Once you get your 2 yr degree you can transfer to an university. You will be taking the same classes at the community college for you 2 yr degree that you would take at the university. Also statics show that many students change majors a lot of times before their third year of college. That is just my experince talking. Also about choosing what to major in. If you narrow your choice down to much you might have problems finding a job because of being to perticular. Hope that helps a little bit.

So I should get a "general" major? Like what would that be? What did you major in?

Depends on what you want to major in. For me I want to be a teacher. So I have my Associate in Elem, Special, Middle Grades Education. I am working on my BA in Speical Education. This allows me to teach throughout school, be a tutor, a principal even work at the board of education. So it all depends on the major.

In the case of not knowing a general might be better. The first classes u take will be the same no matter what degree you end up chosing.
