Meeting Up With New Friends

It was yet another slow day of Julia's summer holiday, and she decided to take a trip to Hogsmeade; no reason, just to visit. There wasn't much to do at Hogsmeade that Julia hadn't already done, but it had been a while since she'd been there. A butterbeer seemed nice at the moment, but the breeze lifting the air felt too good to go inside. She found a nice looking bench beside the walk and took a seat on it, hm, less comfy than it looked. Julia crossed her legs and watched all of the people playing games and entering and exiting shops, not the most exciting thing to do, but there was nothing else left to entertain her at the moment.

Garulia sighed. Khaat wasn't at home, and he had nowhere to go. His ride wasn't due to show until later so he was stuck where he was for the time being. With a sigh he strode around, laughing at some stupid things people were doing. He bought a few decoy detonators from the joke shop and headed down the street.

With a grin he noticed a girl who looked Hogwarts age and sat down next to her.

"Hia, I'm Garulia," he said, a kind smile playing across his lips. He held out his hand to shake.

Julia was a bit surprised when a boy so easily took a seat next to her. She didn't know who he was, but he seemed to be a nice person, and looked to be a Hogwarts student, though she was sure she'd never seen him around school. "Hello," She smiled, "I'm Julia" She smiled, taking his hand and giving it a little shake. She wasn't exactly sure what to say to Garulia, the moment felt awkward, but she knew she could change that, she just didn't know how. "Er... do you, um, go to Hogwarts?" She asked, that being the first thing that came to her mind.

"Used to," Gar replied. "But I dropped out. What house are you in?"

That had been the first thing to pop into his head. Personally, he really didn't care what house she was in. If she was nice then that was enough. He had heard tale of a song the sorting hat had sung about how all should be together and friends.

She was also very pretty.

"Oh," Julia said, flatly. Dropping out wasn't the best thing to do, in her mind, but it was his decision. Though her grades weren't perfect, Julia wouldn't consider dropping out ever, it just ruined your chances at getting a good job and starting a career, but she definitely needed to get her grades up a bit so she could do even better. Remembering Garulia's presence, Julia looked up at him, "Slytherin" She said, "what house were you in?" She asked. Judging by his looks, she could guess maybe a Hufflepuff, or a Gryffindor. Both houses always held very nice people.

"Ravenclaw," Gar replied, smiling. "Though I would have preferred Gryffindor. I think that hat made a mistake. I can turn into a lion, so eh."

Shrugging, he leaned back on the bench, hands behind his head.

"What's new?"

Julia nodded, she hadn't guessed it, but it seemed like a good fit for him. Most Ravenclaws were outgoing and spontaneous, the Hufflepuffs were more of the annoying house. They tended to talk a lot and act obnoxious, as well as Gryffindors, but Gryffies were very nice and loyal. As for Slytherins, well, she couldn't say she was very 'proud' of being in that house. "Oh, cool, you can shapeshift? Or is it your animagus?" She asked. Julia's animagus was a lamb, which symbolized her fragile physique and gentle personality. Very fitting, if she said so herself. "Nothing much, just going to my last year at Hogwarts soon," She said with a shrug, "how old are you, by the way?"

"I'm an Animagus, yeah," Garulia said chuckling and staring across the street. People were entering an exiting shops, bells dinging everywhere he looked. "I'm fifteen, how old are you?"

He turned back to her. She looked about sixteen or seventeen, but then again she was a witch, so it was hard to ever really tell, in case they made themselves magically older or younger, or to look younger or older.

A quick scan told him that she was definitely NOT too old for him, but he still had a crush on Mis...he would just have to see.

"That's cool" Julia assured. "Mine is a lamb" She shrugged. She wasn't very open about her animagus, but there was nothing much to talk about, she didn't really know him. His animagus was a lion, and her's was a lamb... where did she hear that before? She remembered reading it in one of her favorite books; she let the thought go. "Oh, I'm seventeen" She said. The boy didn't look fifteen at all, if anything, he looked older than she. "Oh, wow. Too bad you dropped out, we could have hung out between lessons or something". Julia didn't really have much time between classes, as she was taking so many that upcoming semester, but she was sure she could have found some free time for her friends.

"Wow that's cool," Garulia said. "They don't really care if I do magic since I dropped out. And I make good money doing acrobatics and putting on shows. I love my acts. I'll do one for you sometime. Or you could come to a show, free of charge. Normally I just ask for tips but sometimes I have full out ticket shows."

He smiled, remembering all of his performances with loving detail. The feel of the air as he flipped backwards, the feel of total control as he jumped around poles and wire. The rush of flame as he blew sparks, making fire...

"So, you wanna go somewhere...besides the street?"
