( SO AIRPLANE, AIRPLANE SORRY I'M LATE ) ( I'M ON MY WAY SO DON'T CLOSE
THAT GATE IF I DON'T MAKE THAT
THEN I'LL SWITCH MY FLIGHT ! )The thing was, for every other student that was absolutely
besotted with the idea of mastering magic and had fallen
in love with the castle upon laying arms on it, the final year
would go incredibly quickly and their security net would be
snatched from them incredibly abruptly. For Rafael, the
year would drag. It would be filled with more magical
nonsense and day after day he’d be crossing off the dates
on the calendar until graduation or at first, until Christmas.
He loathed Hogwarts and he loathed magic. It was ‘talent’
that took him away from the people that needed him.
Unless something happened to make Rafael stop resenting
magic (unlikely) then it was incredibly possible that he
would spend the rest of his life hating the gift he was
blessed with. He was a powerful wizard in his own right
and would no doubt pass the same magical genes onto
his own children. He just wanted nothing to do with his
world. He was a Muggle at heart and not afraid to
announce that fact. If he could have ensured his family’s
protection then he would have gladly walked back into
the Muggle world upon Death Eater order. Who knew
though? Maybe something would happen that would
make him change his mind. “I hope so.” Rafael
murmured, doubting his own words. “I never liked
the place regardless of my family being in the
equation. Even if they weren’t I still think I’d feel out
of place.” He explained quietly. He truly felt like the
odd one out at Hogwarts and it wasn’t just because
he was a Muggleborn either. It was just because...
well...he didn’t really know the answer. He just felt
that way and he didn’t know the reason why but it
was an unconscious feeling he’d been aware of
since September 1st 2016.
Rafael frowned at Sophia but his features quickly
changed into a smile and he gently squeezed her
hand. “I thought I already told you I’d be fine?”
he joked. He looked at Sophia, a smile teasing
the sides of his lips up, and a bark of laughter
left his mouth. He wrapped his arm around
Sophia’s waist and leaned over slightly to put
his other arm behind her shins. In one fluid
movement he scooped her up bridal style.
With a grin, Rafael knelt down and gently
set Sophia onto the blanket. He took his arms
away from around her and laid himself down
from beside the young woman. “They spike
the punch because the end result is amusing.”
Rafael answered, playing idly with the hair
splayed around Sophia’s head. He was
completely content it was fairly unreal and
for some unidentifiable reason he was acting
on pure impulse. Or, rather, as impulsive as
pure impulse with Rafael Armstrong was
going to get. He wasn’t quite that way inclined
anymore and he didn’t know if that was a good
thing or not. At least he didn’t but heads with
other people anymore. He was the polar opposite
of his ‘old’ self. He’d been proud and cocky and
everything a boy should have been. Now, he was
like a wet blanket. There were rare times when
the old confidence returned but they were fleeting
and he was thrown back rather sharply into reality,
reminded that he couldn’t afford to be that way
anymore. “Clumsiness is never a fun trait for the
one that possesses it.” Rafael said wistfully.
