Andrew was looking for a spot on the train, and it was filling up fast. He found a compartment with just one other girl in it, and he opened the door a bit timidly. "Is this space reserved? Or could I join you?"
He was anxious to get back to school. He was really angry at his guardian, Steven, who had taken up with some tart and spent the whole bloody summer in Italy. He hadn't even seen Steven. Andrew and Stevens' son, John, had spent the entire summer next door at the Lupin farm with Khaat's parents, Robert and Katherine Lupin. Although--Andrew had to admit, it had been the most amazing summer of his life. Robert and Katherine knew exactly how to amaze a young wizard and how to fill every day with mystery and adventure. He was thinking of asking Robert and Katherine to be his guardians since Steven was too busy for him. Steven hadn't even come home when it was time for him to go back to school. Bastard. Reminded him of his father.
It had been Robert Lupin who had taken him a couple weeks before school was slated to begin and had bought him all his new clothes and school supplies. Andrew had shot up like a weed over the summer, and none of his clothes fit anymore. He was definitely taller than last year--by lots, it looked like, as short as his jeans had become. And his voice was starting to change. He was even noticing a couple of mustache and beard hairs from time to time, although, Robert had made him shave them this morning. Robert had made sure Andrew had his first electric razor. Well, it was a muggle razor that was now magically enchanted to work. Robert had bought it for him and enchanted the thing. Robert had bought him schoolbooks, pleasure books, and had allowed him to have an enchanted Ipod and an enchanted Nintendo DS with lots of games. Well, it was Andrew's money, wasn't it? And if Andrew wanted to finally have something of his own, Robert was all for it. It was all stuffed in his backpack that Andrew had slung over his shoulder. Robert told him he believed it was fine for him to have fun while he was at school. Robert was even scouting out a laptop for him. Said he would send it along. Cool!
And Andrew had his frog. Robert had purchased a proper pet carrier for Frog. It was a clear plastic box that had enough room for water, a few rocks, a couple of plants, all the things Frog liked, and it had plenty of air vents in the lid, along with a proper handle It was a great living space for Frog. He carried Frog's box with him,his backpack over his shoulder, and had checked the other luggage that he had brought with him.
