Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. The Hogwarts Express Empty The Hogwarts Express

The Hogwarts Express
Beyond the barrier separating Kings Cross and Platform 9 3/4 lies the Hogwarts Express, a red and black train billowing steam all over the platform, as well as warming up for the journey ahead.

Leanne and her family were early for the train though not too early. Hogwarts Express was departing from Kings Cross at 11 AM sharp so she made her way to the train while her older brother was dragging her bagage along for her. Her eyes scanned the platform as apperently no one familiar was there yet. Brian, her brother helped her board her truck and her cat into the free department so they got out to the platform waiting for other students and their families to join them,

Zack walked onto the platform pushing his cart which held his trunk filled with clothes and another trunk that was filled with all of his school supplies and then he had his bag which had a snack for the train, his wand, and a small bottle of motion sickness pills. He sighed to himself his parents had wanted to be here but airfare was expensive from the US to London. He moved away from the barrier and left the cart behind carrying his luggage he made sure it was safely on the train. He held onto his bag looking at the train once more he admired its red color he wondered how many years it had been in service. Wondering if Godric would appear back into his life he boarded the train finding a empty compartment he opened the door and sat down.

The Hogwarts Express Empty Re: The Hogwarts Express

Post by Brienne Ravenquist Thu Aug 12, 2010 9:52 pm

Brienne had all her things for her classes and such in order, but on her own. Honestly, Daniel fussed over her a little too much. Luna followed close behind with her supplies arranged solely by Daniel. Each girl had an elegantly wrapped satchel of something, they didn't open it yet because Daniel told them not to until they were seated on the train. The baby snowy owl that Silas bought Luna sat by her other owl, Rosaceae. The older owl cared for the younger one as if it were her own. Luna had named the baby owl after her father who had passed away a while ago. Soon, they were at platform 9 3/4, and saw the Hogwarts Express. Both Luna and Brienne climbed on, and sat at Brienne's favorite seat near the back. This seat was where Brienne and Daniel first met and became good friends on the way. When Brienne was a first year, he was a third year student, and he had plenty of tips to offer her, such as which teachers were most irritable. The one year that Brienne had to sit alone, the year after Daniel graduated, was the hardest for her. She couldn't help but still sit there, even though she knew Daniel wouldn't be there again. She could be like Luna's Daniel. Both girls opened their satchels, and to their surprise, they were filled with candy from an obscure sweets shop in Diagon Alley. Indeed, there was the regular stuff like chocolate frogs and all-flavored beans. What really caught their eyes was the more obscure wizard world candy they'd never seen before, or had seen but weren't adventurous enough to try it. Snake licorice, candied fruit that didn't taste like fruit at all, and cookie lollipops to name a few.

Luna stared blankly out the window of the train, "Brienne, what's it like?"

"What's what like?"

"School"

"It's really fun..."

From then on, they had a huge discussion whilst waiting for the train to go.

The Hogwarts Express Empty Re: The Hogwarts Express

Post by Lucy Weasley Fri Aug 13, 2010 1:45 am

Lucy finished waving to her parents as they left the platform. Apparently there was urgent business at the ministry; she and Molly had been lucky their parents had even been able to see them off.

She turned to her sister.

"Y'know Pol, you don't have to write to them about every little thing," Lucy suggested, though she knew Molly would have no qualms about dobbing her in even on a suspicion.

She gripped the handle of her trunk and began hauling it down the train's long corridor. Lucy had no idea where her friends were. Every year she thought about organising to meet in one of the front compartments, and the next year she always forgot.

The Hogwarts Express Empty Re: The Hogwarts Express

Post by Abbey Dawn Fri Aug 13, 2010 4:26 pm

Abbey turned around to face Allie and the rest of her family. Her adopted mother and father each placed a small kiss on her cheek. Abbey blushed. "Mom, quit, you're embarassing me." she mumbled. Her mom brushed away small tears. "I know, I just can't believe you're going off to Hogwarts again!" Abbey sighed and blew a strand of hair out of her eyes. While it was true this was her fourth year at Hogwarts, it was the first time the people she was saying goodbye too were her adopted family. Last year, it had been her now dead father and Allie waving to her as the Hogwarts Express zoomed off into the day.

Abbey gave each of her parents a last hug and then turned to Allie. "Please stay safe." she whispered in her younger sister's ear as she turned to board the train. Abbey climbed up onto the Express and turned and waved once more to her family. She then clambered up the rest of the steps, her trunk, owl cage, and broom dragging behind her.

After making her way through the crowded throng of students, Abbey finally reached a compartment where no one else was already sitting. She threw her trunk and other things up onto the luggage rack and sat down on the comfy seat. She pulled the door slightly shut, leaving only a small part still open. She wanted this to say, 'This is slightly private, but you're welcome to come in if you'd like.' Every year Abbey had always been early to get her own compartment, this year being no different. Since the Hogwarts Express, according to her watch, wasn't expected to leave for another half hour or so, she pulled out one of her favorite muggle books and began reading it to pass the time.

The Hogwarts Express Empty Re: The Hogwarts Express

Post by James Wake Fri Aug 13, 2010 4:42 pm

"Now remember, boy. No mischief, no mayhem, and no murder. Another smooth, clean year." The broad body of Alan Wake swept through crowd as James followed in his wake. Most people gave Alan a wide berth, but as he passed by, they would begin to crowd in once more. James stood directly behind his "uncle" to avoid being swept away by the many humans that often stepped into King's Cross Station. They stopped at the barrier, just as they did the year before. Alan took out a wand from his large coat, and handed it to the boy.
[color=purple]"Well then kid, I'll see you next summer. Unless I call you in for christmas, don't expect a warm welcome."[color]

Somehow James doubted that Alan could even give a "warm welcome." Maybe said welcome would involve his trunk bursting into flames.
----------------------------

James boarded the train with the rest of the students. It was merely a train ride, he reasoned with himself. No need to interact. Just find a good place to sit... and read. James took his trunk and wheeled to the front of the train. The 16-year-old knew how to keep his sanity and peace. He would just go to the Imperium Squad carriage. No one would disturb him there... right?

The Hogwarts Express Empty Re: The Hogwarts Express

Post by Miseria Lupin Fri Aug 13, 2010 5:09 pm

This year, she had no one to send her to the train, and tell her to be careful, study hard, and do her best on the tests, and exams. Miseria came alone, passing lots of families, but she did also notice that there were several students who came here by their own as well. Maybe they wanted to show how brave and old they are so that they don't need their parents to walk on their side, and tell them to be a good boy or a girl.
She sighed quietly, and pushed her light brown hair away. She let the younger students enter the train before she did it, giving also her best to ignore all the good wishes from their parents.

Her mother was once the same. She didn't even want Miseria to go to that school. Though, Beauxbottons was even closer to her homeland, she still wanted to go Hogwarts, and not even knowing why. Perhaps it was just because of England. She had always loved countries where was raining, and she loved England. It had such a rich history! And the country itself was rather beautiful.
When she could finally get on on the train, she sighed quietly, and entered the long corridor. Well, here she didn't atleast hear all those good byes which sounded actually so... disturbing for her. And not only, they were kind of horrifying her. Maybe this was because she couldn't hear her mother's voice anymore?

No! She shook these thoughts out of her head. This was all so unnessesary, and thinking about the past would make her weaker. And she didn't want that. Closing her eyes for a moment, she stepped forward, looking now for the empty compartment. And as far as she knew, the free ones were right at the end of the train.

Odette's parents left her at Kings Cross in a little hurry this time because they needed to go somewhere or do something that Odette didn't quite catch at the moment. She made her way towards the barrier between platforms 9 and 10 and ran into it after looking around not wanting to draw any attention of muggles. Two minutes later she was boarding her truck and her owl that stood at her shoulder. It was always better to travel with friendly face so she walked through the departments searching for someone familiar.

The Hogwarts Express Empty Re: The Hogwarts Express

Post by Alana York Sat Aug 14, 2010 5:59 pm

Julia arrived at King's Cross Station equipped with all of her large black suitcases, each one filled with her necessities for her final school year: her robes, toiletries, makeup, some dresses for the dances, her clothes for the weekends and time off, and of course her books and school supplies. As she approached the wall between platforms nine and ten of the station, she realized that that would be the last time she would ever walk through that column. It was saddening, really, to think that this is her last year at Hogwarts, she would never return. She tried to banish the thought from her head, this was supposed to be a happy event.

Julia walked through the wall, making sure no muggles saw her, and watched people hurrying to board the train, it was fifty past ten, and they only had ten minutes before the train left. She walked over to the luggage car and gave the attendant her bags and turned towards the other end of the train, searching for a non-crowded area to board. As she got on the train, she walked through the aisles, finding that most of the rooms were already full, some with her friends seated in them. As much as she wanted to be with her friends, she also wanted to be alone for a bit before going out to mingle amongst her acquaintances. Julia finally found an empty room and snatched it before a group of students- Hufflepuff, she noticed- could. She sat at the window seat on the right and rested her legs on the seat, relaxing as she waited for the train to take off.
