Off to Tame Nessie and Maybe Wrangle a Llama or Two

Pushed out of the cave, Chase skidded across the lake bottom and suddenly hit a rock with her back. It knocked the air out of her, but shortly after that happened Jack followed. Seeing a jet of light, she saw Andrew shooting towards the surface. Something red coming out of his back. "Oh no!" She yelled and shot towards the surface, shooting after him and following him to the shore, completely forgetting about her bubble head charm. "Andrew.. calm down, roll over, let me see your back." She said her mind racing.

"Let me help you.." She said until she realized her bubble head charm made it impossible for him to hear. She popped it and then repeated the first thing she had said. "It's okay.. just calm down, deep breaths." Chase was getting lightheaded just seeing all of the blood. "Crap.." She muttered and looked around for Jack, hoping she had made it out, before she started to run her wand over his wound. "This might feel weird Andrew.." She said softly and started to heal the wound with a few murmured words and she watched the skin slowly start to knit back together. It was deep though, really deep. Chase bit her lip.. "We have to get you to St. Mungos.. I can't heal this deep of a wound." She said biting her lip. "I'm so sorry."

Jack gathered her bearing and finally righted herself in the water, allowing herself to float outside the entrance of the cave. She stared at it wistfully and then realized...she had done it. How many other people could say they had ridden the Loch Ness Monster? Not enough for Jack to feel ordinary.

She cracked a grin and pumped a fist, turning to beam at her friends... but all she saw was rippling water, sparks, and... red... Her heart dropped and her stomach seized as she turned quickly to look upwards. It looks like Chase had just broken the surface. Jack turned and frantically kicked her way upwards.

She broke the surface and pounded on her bubble, popping it in an instant. She gasped for air (for no real, logical reason) and shook her head, blinking away droplets of water that had gotten on her from the splashing of her quick rise to the top.

Chase was saying something about St. Mungo's and Jack saw Andrew's skin coming together over a deep, gross wound. Jack made a noise in between a curse and a sucking breath and moved over to them. "Damn it," she hissed. "Mate, I'm so sorry. This was all my stupid idea. C'mon let's get to shore and I'll apparate you both." She grabbed both their arm and gently began to pull them towards shore.

Andrew couldn't say anything due to the pain. The wound had managed to hit his spine, causing him to have a very bad headache in the process. Andrew then moved his hand down, into his pocket, and threw his two gauntlets on the ground near Chase. If they amplified his magical abilities, then it should work for others as well. The gauntlets didn't have a 'master' or anything like that. "Use the gauntlets," he groaned through his gritting teeth.

He felt the pain begin to consume his thoughts, rage filling the corner of his mind. Jack had tried to kill him while she was trying to be a hero and stop that creature! SHE was the one that did this to him! He gripped the grass heavily, ripping the small blades, and a large chunk of Earth as well. The air pieced through the wound like a jagged knife to a point where he could see gray in his eyes.

Chase looked at Jack, and then at the gauntlets on the ground. "Are you sure?" She asked softly but then picked them up. With this.. she might just be able to heal this wound. "I'm sorry Andrew, if this hurts.." She whispered as though it pained her to see him in pain. She ran her hands over his spine, muttering spells as she went. Her eyes closed hard as she concentrated. "It's okay..." She whispered after a moment, as though reassuring herself more then him. "It's okay.. no blood." Her eyes opened and she looked at the perfectly healed wound. No scar, no anything. "Oh thank merlin." she gasped and collapsed onto the grass, her hands shaking as she pulled the gauntlets off.

She looked at Jack and then looked back at Andrew. "He'll be okay.. he might be feeling a bit of the pain's aftershocks.. I sure know how those feel.." she muttered running her hand over her shoulder, feeling the scar just sticking out slightly from her wet shirt, and she knew from the back it must look like there was something hidden under her shirt, running diagonally across, and then across her stomach to finish the circle. She smiled and wiped sweat off of her forehead. "Are you okay Andrew?" She whispered hiding her eyes from their view, afraid they would see how scared she had been, not only for Andrew, but for being down in that water at all.

Jack sat down on the bank, watching Chase heal Andrew with the eyes of a hawk ,ready to assist if assisting was needed. She cursed herself for letting herself get caught up in that stupid little adventure, living in the present, thinking only of the way that it seemed to help her come to life.

Now Andrew was hurt. And it was all her fault. Is there a worse person she could hurt; one of her best friends, leader of Potter's Army, the Gryffindor Quidditch Captain... Damn. Her. Luck.

She did not let any of this register on her face, because letting people know how she was really feeling was just not her thing; at least, not when those feelings were guilt, remorse, shame, fear, embarrassment, and weakness in general. Anger, joy...those things... she did not mind showing... The others though.

Andrew seemed better and Jack let out an appreciative whistle for the trouble they had just faced. "My, oh my. Hey, I really am sorry, Andrew." She nodded. "Didn't mean to get you hurt, pal."

Andrew felt himself groan in pain as Chase began to use his own gauntlets to heal him. After she was done, he felt himself begin to relax, sagging his shoulders and his mind completely blank. He couldn't even remember what he had thought a couple seconds ago, yet he knew it was something out of anger. Which wasn't good for him, as that was the way he began a grudge.

He felt himself begin to calm down however, feeling like the pain had never been there to begin with. The gauntlets really did help. He slammed his fist back onto the ground, only doing it to see if he had truly calmed down. The punch had hurt. For him, that meant his adrenaline was gone and was now able to focus again.

He turned his body towards the 2 girls and he nodded his head, a small cut on his face as well, yet didn't not notice nor feel it. "I'm fine," he said softly "it hurt like hell though...damn." Andrew stood up slowly, feeling like his legs would collapse under him due to the constant strain of swimming. Yet, he got his balance and was able to stand normally. "what happens now?" he asked the two

Chase smiled when Andrew finally sat back up. He was okay.. relief flooded through her entire body and she closed her eyes for a moment before opening them and seeing the cut on his face. She grabbed her wand again and raised it to his face, healing the small cut quickly. "There..' she said wiping blood off of his cheek and smiling at him before realizing Jack was there. Quickly removing her hand she coughed awkwardly. "Erm.. well, I suppose." She said her cheeks pink. "I mean... as long as no one else is hurt.." Looking from first Andrew to Jack she smiled.

"It was kind of fun.. you have to admit.. who knew it was that big.. and Jack! You literally rode it's back!" She said giggling. "And we got to see it's lair, how many people do you know that can tell that story eh?" She asked giggling and sitting back on the grass. Suddenly finding the whole situation highly amusing. Her giggles turned to laughs and soon she was half rolling on the ground. "And we couldn't even talk.." She said smiling at the two as she wiped tears from her eyes, still giggling on and off. "It was fun, I have to admit.. my heart was pounding and every nerve in my body was telling me to run, but I got to look straight into that monster's eyes!" Chas laughed loudly.

Suddenly there was a splash out in the middle of the lake. Chase jumped to her feet and saw.. the loch ness monster. It had come out of the water and was staring at them, stared at the three on the beach for a long moment before it disappeared back into the water. Chase blinked a few times, and then looked down. Long forgotten laying on the grass, was the golden chess piece. "Oh no! I forgot to let go of it!" She said reaching down and picking it up. "I think Nessie is angry with us.." She said softly her whole face red now.

Jack nodded at Andrew and then turned away to look out across the lake, marveling in how such a placed surface could hold such a raging monster... Hmmm... she knew a few people that described, one being a certain stubborn red-headed robot... She was jerked out of her thoughts by Chase coughing and she turned around to see Chase flustered, probably from the whole overwhelming experience.

Jack nodded firmly at Andrew to signify that she was glad he was not hurt. Her eyes flicked to Chase and she felt a grin unfurl across her face slowly. When she mentioned Jack's wild ride Jack's face cracked into a proud smile. "It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life, I'm not going to lie."

Chase explained how the experience had felt for her and Jack let out a barking laugh. Suddenly there was a splash and Jack wheeled around to see the magnificent head of the monster staring back at them. Jack stumbled forward a step, as though accepting a challenge, but she saw no trace of anger or malice in its large eyes. It slowly sank beneath the water and Jack felt her mouth twist into a grin. She felt her thoughts touch Nessie's mind. Good game, friend... You did well.

She turned to see a pink-faced Chase. Chase offered a flustered explanation but Jack shook her head. "I don't think Nessie has much use for it. He didn't look too angry and I think he enjoyed the company." She smiled and began to walk up the banks of the shore, not pausing to let her friends know whether or not she had been joking.

Andrew laughed slightly as the fact that he and Chase had both managed to grapple onto Nessie at a point. Sure, he felt like he was going to die afterwords, but either way it still was pretty fun. He wished that he wouldn't have to do it again, and realized that it was the first time he could remember that he had backed down from something. He smiled to himself and turned towards Chase "Yeah I guess things were pretty crazy down there."

Andrew turned his body 180 degrees to see that Nessie had broken the surface of the water. He didn't feel any other emotions when he saw Nessie, but rather thought that it needed to be captured soon. Obviously, it was capable of fighting, and that worried Andrew of any passing muggles or wizards. Who knows what could've already been swimming in that lake and never came back up.

He looked back over at Chase and smiled slightly as she began to blush. He couln't help but admit that it was pretty cute. "Well," he said softly, releasing some short breaths "I guess everything is alright now...unless you want to head back down into the cave." An idea popped into his head "there was a gold chess piece down there, who knows what treasures could be lurking there?"

Chase stared after Jack as she walked away. Her smile relaxed slightly and she looked at Andrew. "Go back down?" She asked as though the thought had crossed her mind. "Err.. nah, I'd rather not risk my life twice in one day.." She said grinning at him happily. "I mean, I do love being under water with no other way to talk to you guys but writing in the air." She said twirling her wand, dropping it and diving to pick it up again. "But I like hearing things other then my own voice sometimes." She said grinning at him and when Jack's back was turned, ruffled his hair.

"Company.. I guess.. even the Loch Ness monster can get lonely sometimes.." she said taking a slow deep breath of the clean air that surrounded them. "I dunno, I really like it here, maybe we could stay the night or something." she said grinning and looking at the other two. Her hand finding Andrew's and giving it a small squeeze. "It's just so peaceful ya know.." She said staggering up the bank and finding herself on smooth ground. "I kinda like underwater.. it feels like you're flying, without the possibility of crashing to the ground.. unless you count that spell you sent at us Jack!" She said giggling. "That really made us fly, was it just the spell I used to propel us forward then?" She asked turning her head to the side, chatting without really having an aim as she walked beside Andrew.
