Erm.. for people who don't know what all spells do... www.hp-lexicon.org is the best site ever.. a full list of all of the spells used both in book and in the movies.. places, people, monters and time events.. it seriously has everything, a few of the pages aren't up to date with the last book yet, but the spell page is.. for anyone who needs it..

Theres also Harry Potter wikipedia. If you type in list of spells it'll take you to one, or you can look up individual spells. You can also look up types of dragons, book titles, anything you might want.

Well, a quick fix, have the aurors crack down on dark magic. Unforgiveable curses, they're a life sentence in Azkaban right? Well, if you use those spells in battle, and can get caught by aurors, you can expect to end up in azkaban... meaning no RP for that character for awhile, simple effective, and realistic

Very much so but add Azkaban so the person can atleast RP a bit with aurors or healers or themselves...trust me it can get boring in there.

Chase, the current spell list is derived from the lexicon. Jack, the wiki can be edited by anyone who has an account. It's very unreliable.

If you can be caught by aurors, there ought to be some pursuit, right? I wouldn't want a character to suddenly end up in Azkaban when I've never seen any aurors who aren't in the Order attempting to crack down on dark magic.
