Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

Butterbeer Recipe!!!! Li9olo10

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Butterbeer Recipe!!!! Empty Butterbeer Recipe!!!!

Post by Khaat Lupin Wed Jul 07, 2010 11:41 pm

Hey!! My newspaper had this in today's edition. It is a recipe that attempts to duplicate the butterbeer sold at Universal Studio's HP park in Orlando, Florida.

Obviously, since it was just in tonight's edition, I haven't tried it yet, but I'm going to post it here so you all can, perhaps try it and weigh in with your opinions

Here goes:

Cooking/Prep Time: 1 hour
Servings: 4

1 c. light or dark brown sugar
2 T. water
6 T. butter
1/2 t. salt
1/2 t. cider vinegar
3/4 c. heavy cream, divided
1/2 t. rum extract
4- 12 oz. cans of cream soda

Directions: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine brown sugar and water, bring to a gentle boil, stirring often until the mixture reads 240 degrees F. on a candy thermomenter. Stir in butter, salt, vinegar and 1/4 c. heavy cream. Set aside to cool at room temperature. Once cooled, add the rum extract.

In a medium bowl, combine 2 T. of the brown sugar mixture and the remaining 1/'2 c. of heavy cream. Use an electric mixer and beat until just thickened, not completely whipped (approx. 2-3 minutes.)

To serve: Divide the brown sugar mixture between 4 tall glasses (about 3/4 cup for each glass) Add 1/4 cup of cream soda to each glass. Stir to combine. Fill each glass nearly to the top with additional cream soda, and then spoon whipped topping over each drink.
