Khaat had been in a good mood today, all things considered. She had decided to look her best and not let any stress wear on her--not today. One always looked more in power and control if they didn't look tired and haggard. And she felt radiantly happy. Life--her life--was very good indeed. And to celebrate that, she had found a new dress in London that she really liked. Had she still been living with Rob, he most likely would not have wanted to ever see her wear any other dress for the rest of their lives. He would still have been trying to pick his jaw up off the floor, no matter what had already happened between them. Whether he hated her or not, even he would have to admit it was a good look for her.
It was perhaps the most finely tailored dress she'd ever had. In a dazzling white fabric that gave off an opalescent sheen, whether in sun or shadow. It was very elegant and was slim fitting, and it was a perfect showcase for her flawless tan that she had gotten near the pool at home. She had chosen with it the most amazing pair of white stilletto heels she had ever seen. It really was too bad for Rob that he had not known a good thing when he'd had it, but she hadn't lost any sleep over him for a long time now. She had the right people to make her feel satisfied, and at the moment, she could not think of one thing more she really wanted.
She had finished her meeting with Vincent, and, as always, was free to come and go from Hogwarts as she chose. She had not even felt the need to bring her wand today. Well, that, and there wasn't any place to tuck a wand that little dress anyway.
She stepped gracefully down out of the tower that led up to Vincent's office onto the stone halway floor, thinking about her next appointment, a meeting with a group of men to consider some investments to insure that Abbey would never have to worry about money for the rest of her life, when she bumped into someone.
