"Mari!" Khaat was delighted. "Of course. With the healing skills that run in your families, you and Sophia should both make fine healers. I'm just taking Sophia on a tour to get her familiar with the place. I've remodeled it quite a lot. You can join us if you want and then I'll get your application paperwork along the way. You'll need to get some healer's robes, and we've discontinued the lime green ones from years ago. Interns can wear any color they like. Once you're through your internship, you'll wear white robes.
"As I was telling Sophia, my father Robert is the Chief of Staff here, and that means he is responsible for the direct supervision of all healers and for making the work schedules. He'll also be responsible for the lion's share of your training, although you both will be shadowing as many healers as we can arrange you to do. Soph, let's back up a bit so Mari can get on the same page with us."
Khaat walked back down the hallway, explaining that she had started the tour on the top floor because there were no patient rooms here and a lot of staff resources. The old tea room had been moved to the ground floor now and in its place was the healer's lounge. She showed Mari her office and her father's like she had Sophia, as well as the training rooms, the healer's lounge, and the daycare center. She repeated her explanation about how all the patients' medical charts were locked away in a secret, secured location that only she herself and Robert had access to.
"Shall we go to the fourth floor now?" Khaat asked, "Feel free to stop me if you have any questions."
