Order of the Phoenix Meeting 8

The rain pours, thunder rumbles, and winds howl. Of course, this was london, the normal, beautiful summer weather... only made... so much better... by the chillyness the dementors'd set throughout the city, and the country.

A small pop, and Jess was there, his travelling cloak deflecting the rain, the hood pulled down, so that he could see. He looked around and walked forward, up a set of stairs, and then disappearing, along with the stairs, into a blank wall. Very curious.

Jess entered the hall of Grimmauld place, taking his cloak off and breathing deeply, shivering slightly. he'd been hoping more people would be here, but that was how the tables had turned, and when you go hide under a rock for a few weeks, people are bound to feel some hostility to you.

He walked into the kitchen, pulling a slightly larger than usual galleon out of his pocket, tapping it with his wand, then placing it on his table, waiting for the others.

He shivered and remembered how cold he was, laughing slightly and pulling his wand out. "Incendio," he murmered, watching the blue flames fly from his wand and land, dancing merrily in the fireplace, brightening the whole room up.

He then smiled and pulled his chair out and took a seat where his galleon was, waiting for the others to join him.

Phaedra now remembered why she hated English weather. The rain was coursing down the windows, blurring the view out of them. Phaedra was stood in the middle of her high-ceilinged living room with one of her books in hand just staring at the rain. It had been a long while since she’d actually looked at the rain, how the droplets ran down the glass, one seemingly racing with another. Phaedra put her book down on the coffee table and picked up the galleon that she’d been given a few days prior. She hadn’t really understood the conflict in Britain and truly had yet to but she knew which side of it she wanted to be on. She’d chosen her route and planned on sticking to it.

She turned the galleon over in her hands and felt it vibrate. There had been no manual to read on it but she figured it meant there was meeting; her first ever meeting. Phaedra was definitely nervous. She didn’t know what she was supposed to do or what she was supposed to say to any of them. Phaedra waved her hand, summoning her travel cloak and slipped the galleon into the pocket. She wrapped the cloak around herself and tied a few knots in the string that secured it to her shoulders. Phaedra picked her wand up and walked out into the hallway. She slid her feet into her shoes and raised her wand. With a crack she Apparated.

With another crack, Phaedra appeared on the street corner of Grimmauld Place. It was a dark and dingy place, made to look menacing no doubt. It was made even creepier by the rain which blinded Phae somewhat. She pocketed her wand and pulled her hood up a little more. She wished now that she hadn’t worn a dress but it hadn’t been raining earlier. Phaedra walked down the road and stood on the pavement in front of number 12, Grimmauld Place. Phaedra swallowed; there was definitely no going back now. She walked slowly up the steps, careful not to slip on the wet stone. She was walking precariously anyway, she didn’t need to slip on top of everything else.

She put her hand on the door handle and opened the door to number 12, Grimmauld Place. Phaedra stepped inside and tentively closed the door behind herself. She untied her cloak and took it off of her shoulders. Phaedra draped her cloak over her arm and lit the end of her wand. It was horribly dark in the hallway and there weren’t even any gas lamps from what she could see. Phaedra saw what she assumed to be the kitchen door left open a crack and she walked across the aged floorboards towards it. Phaedra opened the door and slipped inside. The room was completely empty instead of one person. Phaedra edged towards the table but stopped, deciding to make herself known. “Hi,” she said a little awkwardly. “I’m Phaedra.”

Robert escorted his wife, Katherine, up the stairs and into Grimmauld Place. He was accustomed to the rain and had changed his large magical staff into its "muggle form" as a very useful umbrella that he had sheltered the two of them with. Once inside, he took Katherine's long black cloak from her, took his own, and hung them up.

He knew his way through the house in his sleep, it seemed. He led her through the house, through to the kitchen. "Hello, Jess," he said tiredly. He was far too tired for a meeting tonight. It had been countless hours since he'd slept because of how critical Khaat had been and how fragile Abbey was. He was exhausted, and he was starting, finally, to feel it. He conjured himself a very large, very strong, black espresso. He looked and saw another person there.

"Oh, Phae," he said, feeling regretful that he had not seen her, "Welcome. Glad to have you aboard. This is my wife, Katherine."

He went over and took a place Phae, pulling out a chair for Katherine on the other side of him.

The man was silent for a long time. Phaedra bit her lip, making the blood rush around where her teeth her pressing against it. She resisted the urge to run a hand through her platinum blonde hair and managed to settle herself down into one of the old, rickety chairs without causing any problems. She draped her cloak over her lap. She put her hands on the table and fiddled with the bracelet clasped around her pale wrist. She heard the door open and looked up to see her... boss... walk in through the door with a woman Phaedra assumed to be his wife, behind him. She smiled and waved when he introduced the woman. At least she wasn’t surrounded by men. “Hi, I’m Phaedra.” She told the woman. “It’s nice to meet you.”

"Phaedra...what a beautiful name," Katherine smiled, "I always like seeing new people joining the Order. Nice to see you again, too, Jess." She turned back to Phaedra. "Oh, I remember you now! I saw you at St. Mungos. You were that healer that was so superb in taking care of Abbey. Thank you so very much for all you've done to help Khaat and Abbey. It means a lot to me, and I know it means a lot to Robert and Khaat. You seem to have a natural gift with babies. Not everyone has your touch with little ones as premature as Abbey is."

Belle ran up the stairs and went and joined the others pulling her hood down from her head. Her long black hair was all pulled up in a mass of curls with some pieces hanging about her face. Her emerald eyes were lined in thick liner and her lips were bare. She went and hunt the cloak up showing of the black mini and tank top. Her normal knee-high boots were present.

She went and hugged her brother glad to see that he was all right after a few weeks of disappearance. "Welcome back, I'm so glad you are all right."

She then took a spot near him after smiling at the other members.

Wilson entered the House and went to their usual meeting room. He nodded to Jess and took a seat next to him. ''Jess, old chap, I have thought you had died. But it seems you haven't'', he said, rather friendly. ''And the rest, always the same miserable lot. It seems like there is a curse on this House.'', he commented.

Jess stood up and shook hands with Rob. "Hello old friend, i'm glad you could make it. News of your... of what's been happening to you has reached me, and just to let you know, you have my full condolences." He said smiling friendly-ly at him. "And hello my dear," he said, shaking Phaedra's hand too, "It's a pleasure to meet you. My name's Jess, and i do hope you enjoy your time in this Organisation, and in the house." he told her a warmer smile on his face.

"Belle," he said softly, giving her a hug back. "How have you been? What's been happening in the family?" He asked, looking concernedly at her. He knew his family was prone to change, and 6 weeks... well chances are it was completely different again.

And then the man Jess'd been most interested in seeing entered the room, said a very wilson=esque thing, and took his seat. "Hello james," he said, glad to see he'd remained this long. Odd man, not sure about him, but he was a good guy, he could tell that much.

"So," he said, "Tell me, are there any more members left, or is this it?" he asked jokingly, desperately hoping the answer was no, beneath his joking facade

Belle sat down near Jess, "Your brother I believe is still apart of this. But since anyone rarely sees him I am not sure if he will be here tonight Jess." Belle said with a small shrug to her shoulders, that was really all there was to say about her husband and if he would show.

jack walked in nd sat diwbn quiety no glad nobody had noticed him he was tired after loking after his shift , he just sat watching every one and thinking about his next shift and Roberts offer , he was happy to be doing something again eve if it wasn,t being an auror, at lest he got to use his skills .
