Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

"Duro can used to turn objects stone," James began to rattle off the top of his head, "It could be used to turn tapestries, paper, and glass into a hard object, which make it good for making shields out of soft objects. Deprimo could be used to blast a hold through such hardened object. Coloshoo glues your opponent's shoes to the ground, which may distract one's opponent. Finally, the Switching Spell can be used to switch the opponent's hardened object with something... smaller."

Elyssa knew just the Deprimo but their professor asked the four of them. She wanted to try at least maybe she can have points for answering one its worth the try isn't it she told herself. She then raised her hands slightly shaking and said in a moderate volume of her voice though her voice was shaking too. "Professor Deprimo is a very powerful wind that can loosen and/or soften a variety of things, it can also detached objects" she said these then sit down on her chair nervously.

''Good. Twenty points for Ravenclaw and Gryffindor. Now, today's lesson will have 2 parts. First, you will have to take your ink bottle and use Duro on it. Then test if it worked by throwing it from your table. If it did, then you will have to use Deprimo to destroy that same ink bottle. That is not a problem. The second task is goes as following. You shall stand up and glue yourselves to the ground using the mentioned spell. When you have done that, try to make a step. If you fail to move, you have done well. Then, you will the Switching Spell to switch yourself with anything that you have brought with you, your ink bottle, your quill... anything. That way, you will free yourself and practice the spell. Commence!'', he said.

''You have a broken leg, not a broken arm. But never mind that. Here is one for you.'', he said, conjuring a ink bottle wandlessly and non-verbally on her desk.

Yes a broken leg. i have to use crutches you see. Thanx She pointed her wand at the ink bottle. She wispered "duro" and watched. Nothing happened. She tried again with a little more strenght in her words. The inkbottle turned to stone. She next used deprimo on the ink bottle. Again nothing happened. She tried again. But still nothing. She closed her eyes, and said "Deprimo!" the ink bottle finally was destroyed. She next stood up. She pointed her wand at her feet and whispered "Coloshoo." she tried to take a step. She couldnt move one bit. She closed her eyes and thought for a moment. She then used the switching spell and switched places with her crutches. She sat back down into her seat satisfied.

Elyssa was satisfied that she earned points for her House but the thought of another task made her a little nervous again. She straightened herself up and think hard the step by step process that she should do for this task. I shall make this ink bottle to a stone using Duro, and blast it off using Deprimo meaning she'll need to open her new bottle of ink for the next classes. Then, Colloshoo, she'll use it to glue herself to the ground that sound funny gluing yourself so you cannot move and then the Switching Spell, what to switched with? Maybe the canvas of her bottle ink that is turned to a stone it's worthless by that time anyway. She said to herself while watching Aurora making her task.

"I'm ready" she whispered to herself and took a deep breath. She pointed her wand to the body of the bottle and whispered "Duro" Nothing happened, though, it made a little shudder. She whispered it again with eyes slightly closed thinking about a picture of a stone and the bottle turned into a small stone. She threw it onto the floor and it just bounced like a ball. It is,really, hard. She picked it up and balanced it on the table.Smiling lightly, she cleared her throat and said "Deprimo" louder than the other spell and it blasted and destroyed. She gathered the remains of the stone knowing that she'll use it for the second part of the task. First task down.

She stood up flattening her clothes. She pointed her wand to her shoes and shouted [b]"Colloshoo"[b/]. She felt as though something has been added to the sole of her shoes she tried to pull it to see what happened. She completely forgotten that she make it happen, that she can't move her feet because of the spell she just used. she punched her head lightly at her idiocy. Then, she go back to her task, she used the Switching Spell to switch herself to the remains of the stone she just laid to the ground a while ago and they switched places. Smiling wider she settled herself to her seat making everything neat again.

Post by James Wake Fri Apr 30, 2010 2:54 am

James' brow furrowed at the senseless activity. He could easily act like he was stuck to the ground, and the ink bottle was a poor example. James' ink bottle, for example, had a shatterproof charm cast upon it, to save him from any major ink spills. That would have been a nightmare. He much preferred pencils to ink regardless. The Ravenclaw fingered his ink bottle with his pseudo arm, while he drew his wand. He tossed the ink bottle haphazardly up into the air, casting Duro as it reached the peak of its toss. James got up and moved his chair out of the way, so that the hardened ink bottle would clack loudly on the ground. James did not smile. He did not consider this an achievement in any sense of the term.

James cast Deprimo on the stone-like bottle, cracking it into multiple pieces. He cast Colloshoo at his boots, reminding himself to clean the shoes as soon as this exercise was complete. Finally, James performed the simple Switching Spell, placing himself exactly where the remains of his ink bottle once were. He quickly cast Reparo on the broken bottle, before releasing the Duro spell. He pocketed the little bottle and sat back down.

Natalie was very used to these Transfiguration and she liked it though not the favorite subject, she still preferred DADA and combats. She emptied her bottle of ink so the ink won't be useless, she pointed her wand at it and cast the spell "Duro" the ink bottle turned into a stone. And then she threw it on the floor and made what seemed like a slight knock to the floor. She picked it up and placed to her desk and whispered "Deprimo" and the stone shattered into pieces. She did not dare pick it and rather she stood up and pointed her wand to her shoes and said "Coloshoo" the next moment she's glued to the floor, irritated by not having able to move, she used the switching spell and switched places to her quill. She tidied herself up and seat down looking as her usual.
