We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

"Aquamenti or Avis summons water or creates waves of water. And Ferula is used to bind and splint broken limbs though i still don't see how it can conjurate something.." Mariana replied in addition to Belle's answer yawning again thinking about her last sentence which didn't have any sense at all. After all she hardly saw anything today.

Alester listened to his classmates, then added a clarification to Mariana's question. Ferula conjures the materials to bind the bone, the board and splinting, as it were that is bound around the injured limb. Thnat is why it can be classified as a conjuring charm. He spoke softly because it was his custom; but also as he had heard her comments as to having a headache after their celebration party. The Slytherin common rooms had been a melee of people fighting amongst themselves over whose fault it was they had lost. He had not been interested in the Match, and so had hidden in his bed with curtains drawn and a silencing charm to block out the incessant chatter and quarrelling.

He looked back at the Professor waiting again to be commanded to perform the practical tasks of the day, his mind considering which cards he would use or if one would do the job.

Belle turned and smiled at Alester and gave him a thumbs up. "That was great Alester. Glad to see you with us today." This was said as a friendly joke and nothing more.

''Good, good children. Ravelnclaw, 15 points. Hufflepuff, 10 points; although, miss Diggory, Avis conjures birds, but never mind. And 5 points for Slytherin. Good job. Now, today's class will have two parts, the first dealing with the first three spells. The first one is pretty easy and is mainly used as an introduction to conjuring spells. The second one will be more difficult because it will require the knowledge you have learned with professor Wilson and great mental strength. But, more on that later. For the beginning, you shall have to conjure the ropes using Incarceous. Then, when you have done that, you will, of course, bind nothing, you will put the ropes in flame using Incendio and then put the fire out using Aguamenti. A simple task, indeed, which you will, I am sure, finish without greater problems. Now, begin.'', he said with a smile.

(NOTE: Deadline is Friday and then you will receive the second part... the second part will have to be done by Sunday, but more on that later)

Arthur took his wand out. This was truly easy, especially for him, who had practiced conjuration for a long time now. He pointed his wand at the table. ''Incarcerous'', he fired, conjuring a rope on the desk. ''Incendio'', he fired again, creating a fire on his desk. he liked fire, but the thing he liked more is turning it off. ''Aguameti'', he fired the spell and turned the fire off. That was it, he was done. ''I am done professor'', he said, putting his wand on the desk.

Mariana didn't like this idea at all since fire was her greatest fear though if she did the task good she hoped it won't be necessary to get closer to the flames she would eventually create. "Incarcerous" she called out creating a slack of ropes in the air flying towards the window though she knew something weird would happen. After all it always did on these classes. "Inscendio!" she called out chasing her ropes towards the window after they started falling down. Her head was looking down to see at what direction were they directed at. "Aquamenti! Accio ropes!" she said turning the fire off before she summoned the rope back. Or at least what stayed from poor rope. She caught it with her left hand showing Professor McCoy her masterpiece. "There is is Professor!" she proclaimed sitting down dragging remains of the rope.

Alester listened as the Professor began to give them instructions, two tasks, the first tripartate and to begin immediately. He looked at his cards and decided that for rapid change the Magician was most useful; he was the master of all the elements and the basis for all the suits of the tarot-- so he would be ideal to make the rapid transitions required.

His silvery eyes flashed as he concentrated on his task, faced his card towards a blank space near his desk, and commanded the first stage; the professor had instructed not to bind anything and that made the task slightly more tricky, Incarcerus, and the ropes bound tightly around themselves in a sort of writing suspension in midair. He gave a quick flicker of a grin at one corner of his moouth before commanding the second Incendio!

He watched the flames lick at the ropes as they writhed with their artificial life, seeking something to bind and finding only themselves. Alester lost himself for a moment watching the ropes coil around themselves as the flames licked through them and fluttered with life. He quickly remembered he had one more task and commanded firmly if sadly, Aguamente and the flames were instantly submerged in a heavy mist of water extinguishing them with a desperate hiss. The ropes continued to writhe for a moment as if they were a large snake in its death throes. He watched the writihing cease and the ropes began to fall towards the floor; just before the first coil could hit he commanded evanesco and the ropes were cleaned away.

He looked at Professor McCoy with sadness in his eyes, fire really was one of his favorite elementals to play with and his fun had been cut short in the task. He waited with a slight frown on his lips for the continuation of their task... the instruction for part two, which he concluded would use birds conjured with the Avis Charm, and ferula to heal them in some way... if the spell list from earlier was anything to go by.

Belle had watched Alester with interest before turning to her own task. She pulled her wand from her thigh and with very neat and precise movements, she completed the tasks quickly and then put her wand back in the holster on her thigh before leaning back in her chair.

She wondered what McCoy was up to, about their knowledge learned from Wilson her least favorite professor. Belle hoped it was not the Patronus charm, because they had done that two times this year all ready. Of course Maybe Professor McCoy would actually finish the lesson on them.

''Good, good. You have all done the tasks and you have done them very well, I might add. Now, each of you will get 30 points for their respective Houses and a big praise from me. Now, for the second part. As I have said, you will have to use something taught to you by professor Wilson. As in your last exam, it will be the Imperius curse. First, you shall conjure a snake using the given spell. Then, you shall conjure, but remember this, only ONE bird using Avis. Make the bird larger... not a vulture or an eagle, but also not something small. What next. You will have to use the Imperius curse to control the snake and then, you will make the snake attack the bird, hurt its wing. You can also do it vice-versa, but I would suggest the first option. When you are done with that, you will make the snake disappear using a spell you should already know and then you will use Ferula to immobilize the birds wound. This one is more complex and it requires more concentration that the first one. Now, commence.'', he said.

Arthur took his wand again and pointed it at the desk. This task was, indeed, more difficult, but also more interesting. ''Serpensortia'', he said, conjuring a snake. Since he liked reptiles, he was not afraid and he let the snake hiss on the desk for a couple of moments. He then pointed his wand in the air. ''Avis'', he said, conjuring a medium-size parrot. That was good enough. He pointed the wand at the snake and used the Imperius curse on it. The snake was no under his control. He started to levitate it and move it closer to the parrot that was flying around. He had to be precise and hit the wing from the first try. He waited... waited.... waited... and then flicked his wand. The snake assaulted the parrot and bit it on the wing. The parrot let out a painful scream and soon landed on his desk. ''Vipera Evanesca'', he said, making the snake disappear. He then looked at the parrot. Luckily for it, that was not a venomous serpent. ''Ferula'', he said, conjuring material that bound and immobilized the parrot's wing. He took the bird in his arms. ''Professor... I am done. The parrot is safe and sound.'', he said.
