Class Seven - N.E.W.T.

They came to the practical part like always. That was a hard part of the class since Mariana usually finished up doing correct thing on some strange complicated way making herself and the Professor laugh on her outweird skills. "Here goes nothing." she said grabbing her wand from her pocket and pointed it at no particular direction looking around not paying attention to what she was doing. POOF. There was the mouse trap, but on the way she was supposed to make her. "Ouch!" she commented taking the trap off her captured finger which was looking rather red. Why do i always finish up like that.. she thought for herself pointing her wand at the table conjuring a cheese and correctly. She took the small piece and put it on the place where her finger was stuck a moment ago.

Alester listened to Mariana give her answer and then Professor McCoy's definition. He would have added McCoys' definition to his notes, but it was already what he had written down; along with the five known exceptions he was aware of.

He looked at the other boy as he performed his task and almost smiled, it was nicely done. He faced the fool card towards his desk and thought of the havarti cheese he knew would be in the cabinets at home. It was his locus of control for the conjuration. In a moment a rather larger block than he was expecting appeared on his desk. Next he thought of mousetraps, he didn't really know where they might be kept, that was not work he bothered with so he could only focus on the item picturing it clearly in his mind. A small trap of the old fashioned spring kind appeared next to the cheese. He allowed a half smirk to curve his lips in triumph. He was always concerned he might not succeed in the classes; he was very capable, and had been taught very complex magick-- but there was always a measure of possible failure. HE broke off a chunk of cheese and loaded the trap wanting to engorgio it and see what it could do to a larger target...

He looked around for Professor McCoy waiting to see if he had completed the task appropriately.

''Miss Diggory, good job and, as always, you manage to make me laugh. Twenty points for Hufflepuff. The elves will be thankful.'', McCoy said. ''Mr. Crowley, good as always. Twenty points for Slytherin, too.'', he added.

Subastian walked into the room and slunk into his seat as he looked at the board to see what they were doing today. He cleared everything off his desk and pointed his wand at the empty space, he thought of Gouda and a slice of it appeared. He frowned seeing it was a slice instead of a cube but then just shrugged. Bastian then thought of a mousetrap and one appeared. He carefully put the cheese on the trap, just as he did it snapped shut but not on his hand. He sighed and glared at it as he set it back up and put the cheese back on it, thankfully this time it did not snap on him.

Belle could not personally stand Gouda cheese and instead decided to imagine a nice chunk of well aged Sharp Cheddar, her stomach growled as she did so and she laughed to herself. "Guess I shouldn't have skipped breakfast." The chunk had appeared and looked way too good to be going to a mouse so she popped it into her mouth and sighed in delight. She smiled at the Professor and gave a small one shoulder shrug before bringing about a piece of Gouda, she didn't like it so it was perfect for the mice and way less tempting.

She also thought about the mouse trap and once it appeared she set it carefully and smiled quite pleased with herself. This was easy compared to some of the things her Gramps had had her do over the years with flowers and other such things.

Her stomach growled again and she simply thought of the Cheddar again and this time offered a bite to the Professor with a smile. "Perhaps you would care for some as well Professor? I am sure even you forget to eat now and again."

''And forty points for Ravenclaw. Miss Fey, Haversham... good job. And, thank you, Miss Fey.'', McCoy said taking a piece of her cheese. ''Nice, I do have to admit. Now, all of you have done your job... except Miss Malfoy. Time is almost up.'', McCoy said.
