Adam made his way up to the Kitchens. It was about seven o’clock and he’d unfortunately missed dinner or, rather, he’d never made it there in time. He’d been out in the grounds and had lost track of time. He hadn’t intended on being so late but he managed to grab an apple before it all disappeared. That was about it and now Adam was hungry. He stopped outside the portrait and closed his eyes. He reached into the rubies of his walking stick and opened his eyes once more to find himself considerably lower down and looking through red eyes. He figured that was how Lord Voldemort must have seen – through red. He reached up and tickled the green pear. He heard a giggle from inside and the portrait swung open. Adam walked inside and found a female house elf standing by the door to welcome him. He pulled out of the eyes of his cane and let the house elf lead him into the kitchen. He was sat down at one of the tables and a dessert was put in front of him by the house elf. Adam could smell the chocolate. The elf pressed a fork in his hand and Adam dropped his cane to the floor. Adam cut a bit of the dessert off of the main cake and put it in his mouth. Cheesecake, perfect. He hummed in approval and felt the elf’s presence disappear. He dug into the Chocolate Cheesecake, silently admiring the large portion and the elves’ cooking skills. Even his mother couldn’t whip up as good as that.
