Secrets and Confessions

Draco watched as Astoria finished her wine and came over to him, it was nice to hear some optomistic words from her really, it made him reassured of their families future. Still, everything she was saying, their whole conversation, was just making him feel more guilty. He knew that perhaps, he would have to tell her some day, perhaps now if he wanted their relationship to continue without secrets. Then again, perhaps telling her would just make it worse, it definately would for some time anyway. He sighed. "Lets finish this talk upstairs," he said, drowning the last wine from his glass and setting it on the table.

"Alright," she said, nodding slightly in agreement and consent. She didn't know where else this conversation could go, unless she admitted to what she swore he would never know or he admitted to what she thought may have happened. She found both scenarios equally unlikely, but if he wanted to continue, she would. Instinct or something like it told her to grab his hand as she began to exit the kitchen and go toward the stairs. Maybe it was the fact that if either situation happened, it might be the last time she felt like holding his hand for a while. "Let's go," she said, squeezing his hand and smiling just a bit, trying to be as optimistic as she had been just moments before.

Draco once again frowned when she held his hand. He liked it, but once again she was making him feel guilty. She was probably doing it unintentionally, and she definately didn't know how guilty it was making him feel. Nodding, he walked upstairs with her towards their room. A light was coming from Sandras room, unsurprisingly. Draco had hardly ever seen her asleep. Entering the room, he closed the door behind them and turned on the lights. As he turned to look around the room, he saw a picture on his bedside table of their family and frowned again. "You know Astoria, I think its time we stopped keeping secrets from each other. Or else we will never be as happy as we once were," Draco said, sitting on the bed. Would he actually tell her what he had done? Probably not, perhaps he would tell her half the truth. Perhaps that would make him feel less guilty. But the whole truth would probably just make things worse.

She didn't sit down and remained standing. She was in front of him, her arms crossed in front of her. She wasn't really sure if she wanted to here this, not now. But he did have a point, there would be no peace and very little happiness until they were honest with each other. She didn't know if she would be sharing her own secrets with him--he didn't seem to suspect anything--but that was a decision for later, after she had let him have his say.

"Secrets," she repeated after him, rubbing her arms slightly as though the word gave her a chill. "Go on." she added.
