Divination

(Term has started)

"Hello class, I am Professor Hophrik, you can call me that or Professor Arianna" said Arianna as she stood up from behind her desk with a clip board and a quill, "Befor we start class I'll need a list of every one here who is taking this class so I'll need you to state your name, and what year your in." she said briskly, and walked around the class room.

"Come on now!" she said, tapping her foot, "Don't be shy! I'll be needin to know whos gunna be here and who's not. But I guess if no one wants to speak up we might as well just get started..."

"hi Mrs.Ariana, Im Darren Kane. Im in year 5, Slytherin head boy," darren said nervously.

"Ah good, good! Hi Darren, and Talkino." said Arianna looking around her slightly empty class room. "I was expecting more but ah well... they'll come when they come I guess. So, who can tell me about tea leave?" she watched as the students started pulling their books out of their bags, "Pish tosh! Put those things away, we'll scarcely be needin em! Tea leaves... anyone?"

"Hello Matt, welcome to Divination!" said Professor Arianna smiling, "And yes you are quite right, they do tell peoples futures, five points for Ravenclaw. Can anyone name some of the smybols that have meanings in tea leaves?"

"I know a few!," darren said, having read his books at home "The falcon means you have a deadly enemy. An acorn means a lot of unexpected gold, the sun means great happiness while the cross is the opposite"

Caroline Black entered the classroom and felt an intense smell of burning vanilla sticks.
"Hello, professor. I'm Caroline Black and I'm in 5th year. I'm sorry I am late".
She went towards the table where a Slytherin stayed and whispered: "May I sit here?"

"Ten points to Slthyerin! Very good Kane, I wasn't expecting many people to know to many of them." Arianna watched as a girl rushed through her classroom, apologiving for her tardiness, "Ah, I had forseen many people being late. You are only fufilling what is meant to happen." she chuckled a bit, "I could talk circles around you all if I kept up with the 'seeing eye' crap, let me tell you one thing. There are physics, and there are people who can't even see tomorrow. There are symbols to be read, and there are lumps of wet tea that people take way to seriously. In this class you will learn many things... how many of them might actually help you later in life, I don't know." looking at Caroline she said, "Welcome to Divination, Mrs. Black. I do hope you won't make tardiness to much of a habbit." and started handing out cups to her students. "Allright kids, swirl, swoosh and read. If you have to hard'a time with it, open up the flabberghastin books to page 12."
