Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Starting the Job - Page 2 Empty Re: Starting the Job

Post by Miseria Lupin Sat Feb 20, 2010 7:32 pm

Miseria took the book, and opened it while following Khaat. She was listening her with one ear while reading the orders. When Khaat spoke again, Miseria looked up and raised her eyebrows:"You mean take an order, take it to the kitchen and bring them something?" she asked. Yes, she felt that she was ready, she just wanted to know if she got it all right. And all those kitchen jobs... She already knew how to do everything.

"That's it. That's the job. It's that easy, and you know how to do everything here. Rob will be your direct boss because of my work at St. Mungos, and when certain chores become too tough because of your pregnancy, Rob will help and so will Gar. We'll make it work as a family. I think you're going to do really well at this because you know how to do everything here already. And I think you'll have a good time, too. Do you think you can do the Sparks charms?"

Miseria smiled at Khaat and nodded, putting away the little book. She already knew the rules and she knew what she had to do! "Yeah, so what are we waiting for?" she was still smiling when she left the kitchen, and went to serve the costumers. It was her first job, and that made her feel nervous, but after taking some orders, she didn't feel so sick of it after all.

"Oh, well done! Very good job. I'm proud of you. And if it gets slow, there could be jobs in the kitchen to help Rob with. You just never know. You're going to do great. I'll have Rob try to free himself to see if there is anything else he has in mind. Just keep working, and I'll be back" She left her to go to the kitchen.

Miseria nodded to Khaat, and followed her to the kitchen. She gave Robert the notes what she wrote down with the orders, and smiling at Khaat she sayd:"Guess I will go back, and see if there is someone who needs something else..."
Then she went back to the little hall.

Khaat watched Miseria and Gar work, and she felt great pride. They were great kids, and they knew how to work hard. She hoped they would come to like the bistro enough to get their friends to come. She told Rob about what she had taught them, and said she would go back and help in the dining room until he could get free to talk with them.

Starting the Job - Page 2 Empty Re: Starting the Job

There was only so much time one could spend at the Apothecary and Elijah had just about reached the end of what he could handle. After throwing everyone out of the shop, Eli closed up for the afternoon and began to wander through Diagon Alley. He was pretty tidy for who he was. Eli was a slob when it came to his outward appearance but he was wearing some dark jeans and white button down shirt with the arms rolled up to his elbows. Nachash was curled around his right forearm and as he walked a few people were giving him some strange looks. He’d learned to ignore it, especially seeing as Nachash didn’t just take up his right forearm anymore. She had long since covered his whole arm and she was incredibly tightly coiled.

Eli stopped outside a Bistro and peered inside before opening the door and going in. He ran his hand through his hair and looked around, wondering what the place served. He spotted Khaat and walked over to her. “Hey, Khaat.” He smiled. “I heard you got married, congratulations."

"Eli," Khaat smiled warmly. She hadn't seen him in awhile, and she missed him. He had helped to save her hide when Death Eaters were after her. "Thank you. Its good to see you. Hungry? Professor Dent is now an amazing chef, and at least it beats all that deep fried everything the pubs offer." She led him to a seat at one of the better tables. She looked at Nachash. She really did like animals a lot. "You're getting so beautiful, Nachash," she said. She handed Eli a menu. "Take your time. By the way, all the teas are custom blended by my father. He is amazing with teas."

Eli sat down and smiled at Khaat, nodding when appropriate. He hadn’t really met the Professor but he knew that the Professor definitely wasn’t teaching anymore. From what he had heard he was pretty well liked. He didn’t strike Eli as the type who would want to settle down, though. Eli didn’t care too much though. Many didn’t expect him to be the type to settle down but he wanted a family of his own pretty badly. He had gotten indifferent about it as of late, though. Things seemed to be falling apart around him again. He just figured he was better off alone. Later in life he’d throw the cash around and see about adopting some children. He wasn’t too fussed as long as he could give someone the childhood he was denied.

He was quickly brought out of his thoughts and saw Khaat looking at Nachash and commenting on how beautiful the snake had gotten. Eli couldn’t help but agree; she was a beautiful woman. Well, she was a snake but had too many human qualities for him not to refer to her as a woman. Eli loved Nachash dearly and wondered idly if she returned the affection. “That she is, Khaat.” Eli murmured, looking down at Nachash who glanced up at him. Elijah took the menu from Khaat and nodded. He didn’t really want tea but he wasn’t bothered what he ended up with. Anything that tasted good would do him.

Nachash broke out of his skin and slithered onto the table to look at the menu with him. Eli couldn’t help but laugh a little. One the table she looked huge but she still had the lower half of her body attached to him. Eli reached over and ran his fingers over her scales. The snake shivered and Eli looked down at the menu. He glanced at Nachash again and saw her inspecting the pepper pot. The snake sneezed and Eli laughed. He gently tugged her away from the pepper pot. “What are you doing you silly girl?” he whispered in Parseltongue to her. She hissed back something that sounded like exploring and she slithered over to look at the menu again. “What should we get then?” Eli asked aloud.

Nachash turned the page which made no sense seeing as she was a snake but Eli decided to go with the flow. She pointed to the desserts and Eli looked down the page. He knew he needed a chocolate fix but he didn’t know about her. He looked up to ask and found Nachash sniffing the pepper pot again. Eli rolled his eyes and closed the menu. He let his head rest in his hand and he watched as his girl looked at the various things on the table. She was very nosy but she was always the same when it came to new surroundings.

Khaat came back when she saw him close the menu. "Well, Rob fixes a really great steak if that interests you, or, there is an asian pepper pot on special. Lots of vegetables in an asian stock with pieces of steak, shriimp and chicken. Nachash, I think you would like the meat in there. It is very, very good. Or would you prefer it raw? Whatever Nachash wants is on the house, Eli." Khaat reached over slowly and stroked Nachash gently and affectionately, with a feathery light touch. "Nachash, that little pot of pepper will only make you sneeze," Khaat said. "Not much interesting in that. Oh! I know what you might like. My mother made me a new glass lamp with a lot of holes in it for special effects. I haven't put it up yet. " She accio'd the beautiful heavy multicolored light fixture over and set it out of Eli's way, but at Nachash's access. She could crawl around through the smooth holes,in and out as she liked. It would at least be fun and new for a moment or two. "Try that," Khaat suggested."Have you decided what you would like, Eli?"
