In From The Cold

All those voices what came from next to her, were just peaceful mumblings for Miseria. She didn't hear anything correctly, but she knew one of them who was talking. Khaat! Her new mother! And after that she realized that she wasn't unconcious anymore. Her body started burning again. She wanted to scream in pain but she couldn't even move herself. Her head was heavy like something had hit her. And maybe something even had.

Last thing she remembered was the ice cold water and Elijah who she lifted up. Was he Okay? Was he alive? And where is Khaat now? Now that she didn't hear her voice, she started panicing. Did everybody leave her? Will she be all alone again? She felt herself like five years again when she got lost in woods. It was that dark and then the werewolf bit her. She remembered her own screams in pain. That was almost the same situation. She wanted to cry but there were no tears. Only emotionless and blank place where she belonged now.

And then the ice... She could still feel how it hit her when this Slytherin boy came on it. She wasn't that stupid. She would come off of it sooner or later. She was afraid of death. Was it really that painful? Or was it just hell so she could feel all the pain forever? And then the boy – guy from Slytherin, Elijah had came there. He wanted to save her, take her off the ice but then it all had happened. It couldn't take both of them so it all cracked. Maybe he is dead as well? If yes, then maybe he's in heaven? He tryied to save her with his last breathe before falling in.

And then Miseria gasped. Soon after that, she started coughing water. It made her feel even worst. Her lungs were burning, it was painful and she couldn't even breathe. She opened her eyes but the light made her close them again. Was she blind? Or was it the light at the end of a tunnel? She dind't know but reality came closer to her by every step. She opened her eyes again and blinking them, she looked at the walls, at the ceiling and then at her bed on what she was laying on. Was she in the Hospital Wing? Maybe? But where are the others? She couldn't move but just look straight ahead.

Jack heard the girl caugh , looking around he picked up a dry cloth wiping the water that she caughed up "its ok, your safe in the hospital wing." he said softly as if he spoke to his son as he gently wiped the water from her, he sighed " I'll get Khaat , if you need her, but I sugest rest" he tucked the blanket around her then turned to check the boy, then turned back as he sat back on his chair now facing the girl.

Miseria was shocked when she heard someone talking. That wasn't Khaat. Where is she? She let him take care of her but then she tryied to look around and scowled a bit. “Where's Khaat?“ she asked, not even realizing how quiet her voice sounded. It was like she had a sore throat. It was painful to talk. But Khaat was the only one who she wanted to see now – incase if she's really going to die. She was afraid of the last one, she didn't even know the real reason why she had entered this forest today. It was like someone had told her. And it was mostly true. Nightmares had haunted her and she heard her mother's whispers.

She couldn't even escape them. Not even when she was trying to sleep. She didn't know if she is going crazy, maybe she's not safe anymore if she had tryed to kill herself. Looking again around, she searched for her. Did she left her because she was afraid that Miseria didn't want her as her parent anymore?

Jack looked down at the girl in the bed " hey, its ok she just had to step out for a moment" he said still holding the cloth "she'll be back " he could see the fear in her eyes he had seen it several times in good men who had perished under the ministrys laws. " Miseria isn't it, you remeber we met in hogmead , jessica's husband ,well soon to be" he said hoping his voice would calm her.

Miseria nodded, although, it made her head hurt even more. Away.. only for few minutes. Then she looked around again and she saw Elijah there as well. He was alive and he wasn't sleeping. She didn't care that right now she was in one room with Slytherin. Thing what she cared about was if he was Okay. Well he wasn't dead and that was good for both of them.

When she heard man speaking again, she looked at him and nodded. She remembered something... Yes... This lady who had lost her memory. But it was long ago. Maybe she's fine ... And how did he know her name? She didn't introduse herself to him, right? “Y—yes,“ she said, still looking at him. Then she glared at the door. “where did Khaat go?“ she asked and tryied to get up. She wanted to talk with her. She was her mother now after all, right?

Jack saw her about to sit up and placed his hands on her shoulders "ow, no, you don't" he said gently laying her back down "she's just gone to get the medics , Jess told me about you and how you were nice to her in hogsmead." he said hoping to get her to relax ashe looked down at her he saw her looking over at the boy "he's fine , and asleep as you should be" he said "promise me you'll stay laid down and i'll remove my hands from your shoulders" he said with a small smile.

Miseria scowled and still wanted to get up but he was stronger than she. Even if he was holding her shoulders and placing her back in bed, Miseria gasped in pain. It was cold and painful. She couldn't feel her legs but on the same time, she could move them. And so was with her hands. When Jack was talking again, she nodded, but she didn't say anything. No, she will get up sooner or later and escape this place! The Hospital Wing was like prison to her now! “Please, let me go,“ she begged him.

As hurt and insecure as she was, Khaat couldn't just walk away. Her feelings for Miseria wouldn't let her go. She wasn't sure she knew how to be a mother, but she did know she loved her. And maybe that was enough for now. Khaat went back in and saw she was awake, and she went back over to the bed. "I didn't leave," Khaat told her softly. "I just went to get a little air. What happened? Just tell me the truth."

Jack gave a sigh as he moved his hands , he was glad she had returned and sat back down on the chair feeling a tickle from his nose, he sighed and looked at Khaat " Thanks for coming abck , was getting a bit worriedI'd be here all night." he said

"No, " Khaat smiled, putting her hands on his shoulder supportively. "Jack you need to get warmed up now. Why don't you transfigure yourself into warmer clothes, and I'll conjure you a large mug of a really great tea? And as for you, Miss Lupin, we need to talk, don't we?" She had left her voice gentle and as relaxed as she could manage.
