Near the lake.

Leaving the Forbidden forest behind, Miseria walked to the lake and looked around. It was quite dark already. Since her last time, she had started to visit this place more often than before she was doing it. She loved the nature, but the way like she walked was mostly that she was looking for someone or something. Leaving footprints behind, she stepped on the ice.

But since no one was near and no one could say nothing to her, she stepped forward. She knew that since the weather wasn't cold enough and ice wasn't thick as well, she could fall into water and drown there. But maybe that was even better. Realizing that Khaat would be sad and she'd definetly miss all of her friends, she had this weird exigency to do something what could cost her own life.

Smirking at this own thought, she realized that she was already standing in the middle of the frozen ice and looking around. No one was there. Only darkess what surrounded the lake.

The Christmas season had come and gone without anything remotely significant happening to Elijah. It had been the same as always - he'd gotten a broom for his father, some sweets from his aunt and a letter from his uncle telling him that his life would start to look up but the odd thing was that he got a letter from his mother asking him to get a girlfriend or a wife or something. He'd burned that one faster than he's uncle's letter.

But now Eli was ready to get out of the Dungeons. As accommodating and as homely as they were he just really wanted to go outside and draw. Maybe it was the fact that he hadn't gone to the Room of Requirement over Christmas and instead he stayed in his dorm but whatever it was he was ready to go outside again.

Elijah was down by the lake within half an hour and couldn't help but smile at frozen waters. He settled himself down by one of the trees but he narrowed his eyes and squinted to see a girl step out onto the ice. It wasn't even properly frozen - it was more of a slush.

Eli got to his feet and jogged down to the edge of the ice. He stepped onto it and began to carefully walk across it. He didn't trust it and being as tall as he was and having the Krum muscles he wasn't the lightest person in the world. He knew he was in trouble but he didn't want the girl to get hurt.

Thanking the day what was coming to an end, it was already dark outside. She didn't know how long she was standing in the middle of the lake, waiting for the ice melt or crack so she could fall in and perhaps drown. Maybe people would hear her screams because she was definetly afraid of death and right now playing with her own will, but there was nothing to worry about, right? Sooner or later everyone will die.

For one moment she even closed her eyes and imagined her parents. They didn't want her to die. They had even saved her life by not giving the Death Eaters the prophesyball so she could live but right now, what was she doing? A little suicide at the lake. And then she opened her eyes and looked at the Slytherin who was coming across the lake. She remembered him. That was the guy who Rosalie seemed to like!

“What are you doing?“ she hissed, scowling at him. “Go back!“ she added. The ice could endure only one – her but not for long. What will happen if both of them are on the ice? The question came out under her and his feet. Ice was cracking. Suddenly she started laughing. She was hoping that she'll die alone, not with someone else. “Run!“ she commanded.

Eli bit his lip and felt the ice crack around him. There was no time. Eli clamped his eyes shut as the final ice fell away and he hit the water with a spectacular splash. He was sinking and he knew it, there was no way he could make it out alive. The pressure of the ice over the water made it impossible for him to float. Eli tried to grab onto some reeds and keep himself up but he felt them wither away in his hands.

Eli pushed his hair back and looked up at the ice. He couldn't see the hole where he'd slipped through. He couldn't see anything. Finally though, darkness came and he could relax. Death was simple and pleasant almost. Perhaps this was how it was meant to be. Maybe that would be the end and his deprived childhood would seem almost peaceful. He knew Nachash was drowning to. He was, and so was she.

Khaat was out on the grounds, flying Archangel for some exercise. He had flown away from her and suddenly she heard his screech of alarm. There was trouble. She looked for him and saw him circling the lake. Khaat ran to the lake as soon as she could.

She saw Miseria there, and Khaat thought she looked upset. "Miseria! What's wrong?"

Miseria looked at her feet and the ice what was cracking all around her. And without any screams or calling out for any help, she fell in. Cold water hit her body and then she looked up. She didn't even take her last breathe before falling into the darkness what wanted to swallow her. And also it wanted to swallow him – the guy... What was his name again?

Miseria looked up at the ice. Where was this hole from what she had fallen in? And where was this guy? Looking around in water, she felt how her lungs started to burn. And finally she saw him. Not far away from her. It seemed that he took this drowning thing very easily – the way like she did. But the only thing why she started to swin on his side was that she knew that it was her fault. She was the one who was standing on the ice and he wanted to take her away from there.

She wrapped her hands around him and started swimming up. The ice was thick when she tryied to hit it. But she didn't have much time left. And so didn't he. Why couldn't she just die alone, not with some god damn company? She took out her wand and pointed at the ice. Although she knew that after it she will definetly die, she shouted under water 'bombarda' which making a hole to the ice.

Lifting him up to the ice. She didn't care of saving herself anymore. Then she felt this horrible headache. But still, on some reason, she a smile on her face. Was it good that she was dying. Maybe.

ack moved down the pathway to the lake he was nervouse as Jassica had gone to st. mongos , she ahd not been feling well and he worried if it was somthing that had happened in her abcance .

As he walked he saw two figures stood on the ice , then to his suprise they fell in "HAY!!" HE SOUNDED NOW SPRINTING TOWARDS THE HOLE THAT WAS LEFT TAKING OFF HIS JACKET HE DOVE IN DEEPER AND DEEPER TILL HIS HAND CAUGHT HOLD OF SOMTHING onr he had a good hold on the other slipped just between his fingers , DRAGGING IT TO THE SURFACE HE DRAGED THE BOY TO THe EDGE "WHY DID YOU BOTH DO THAT?" HE ASKED AS HE PULLED HIM TO THE SOLID GROUND.

Elijah slowly sat up and glared at the man. He was thankful that he had been saved but there was no need to yell at him. A visit to the Hospital Wing was looming but unless he did some Miseria would die. Khaat would be upset and that little boyfriend she had would be beyond pissed at him.

Elijah got to his feet and shook some of the water out of his clothes. His lips had gone blue and he was incredibly pale which was completely different to his usually tan body. Eli took his wand out of his pocket before taking off at a run on the ice. He cast a bubble-head charm over his face and tucked his wand into his pocket before diving down into the water.

It was just as cold as before but he seemed better suited to it now he was just as frozen. Eli spotted Miseria instantly and pushed himself through the water. He grabbed hold of her wrist and pulled her up so he could wrap an arm around her waist. Eli took his wand out of his pocket a gain and yelled, "Bombarda Maxima!"

The bubble-head charm broke and Eli swam up to the surface of the lake. The ice had broken so only small bits were on the top floating. Eli swam over to one and hauled Miseria on top of it. He sighed and felt his fingers stiffen up. Elijah pushed the ice and hung on to the side, letting the water take him towards the shore as the darkness came again.

Khaat conjured two thick warm blankets and gave one to Eli, and wrapped the other around Miseria. "Thank you, " Khaat said to Eli quietly. She looked at Jack, "We'd better get them back as soon as possible." She would have a lot of questions for Miseria, but not now. She looked at Archangel. "Go get Rob, and bring him to the hospital wing. Don't take no for an answer." The bird flew away at her command.

jack picked up he own warm coat wrapping it around himself "I caould aperate one then come back for the other " he sujested "quicker and safer " he spoke as he too gave a shiver even with his coat over him.
