Winter Flying Fun

Khaat changed quickly to her jeans, her warm tan suede boots, a white turtleneck, and her favorite tan suede jacket and tan suede gloves. She wore a red knit scarf and had a red fleece winter headband to keep the winter air out of her ears. She made the short walk in the winter sunshine out to the lake. It almost felt warm, if there was such a thing in late December.

She had "accio-ed" a tan leather bag from home that she always kept ready. It had some of Archangel's favorite enchanted toys inside, and Khaat had conjured a bag of raspberries and apple slices and bites of cooked chicken for him. She tucked it in the leather shoulder bag. She summoned Archangel, who flew in at her command, always ready for fun and adventure with Khaat, who he adored. The eagle flew in and landed, with a graceful glide, onto her outstretched arm. "Good Boy!" she laughed, petting his gorgeous white head.

Renae rose up out of her bed, as if she was scheduled to. She grabbed some skin tight jeans, andher favorite long- sleeved shirt. She got her wand and slip it into her left pocket. Then put her glooves, boots, and wrapped her scarf around her neck heading out the door. She finally got to the lake, where it was so cold, she knew her breathe was visible without even looking at it. She recognized a beautiful eagle landing before her. She immediatly knew who it was.

"Of course Khaat. You always have to make a big entrance."she smiled.

Robert was bored to say the least. He was due to be teaching the students of Hogwarts once the winter holidays were over and upon looking over the tests that they were to have in May he seemed to have a lot of classes left open for students to just skip. He wasn't having any of that but he needed a break - a long one.

Robert pulled a shirt over his head and grabbed his jacket off of the back of the chair. It was leather and wouldn't do much to keep the cold at bay but after throwing a scarf around his neck and lacing up his trainers he was good to go.

Soon after that Robert left the warmth of Hogwarts and walked out towards the lake. That was when he saw her. The new substitute teacher - the Lupin. He'd heard of her but he hadn't thought she'd be so.. well beautiful. She was young, possibly a little older than him but that didn't matter. She looked wonderful and completely in her element with her eagle.

Robert saw another woman wander over to Khaat and he couldn't help but feel a pang of disappointment. However, he hadn't come out to stare at her all night - however much he wanted to. He needed to clear his head and filling it with images of a woman as beautiful as she wouldn't help him at all.

"It's not me, Renae. It's him. You don't see an eagle around Hogwarts every day. He's just big and impressive all by himself, " Khaat laughed. "But seriously, he needs some exercise. And this is a beautiful spot to do it. I brought his favorite enchanted toys so we can play fetch with him." Khaat reached in her bag and got out what looked, for all the world, like a stick, except that it was bright fire engine red. Not painted, just naturally red. "Here, Renae, Throw the stick as high and far as you can. He'll get it and bring it back to you before you can believe what you're seeing." She handed the red stick to her. She noticed an incredibly handsome man coming her direction. It made her heart skip a beat. That hadn't happened in years. 'Steady, Girl,' she told herself, 'Guys who look that good are always married.' "Hello," she called to him as he approached, "Come join the fun."

Renae grabbed the stick and looked at Archangel. "Are you ready boy?" she asked him. She fiddle the stick to get Archangel going then threw it as high and as hard as she could. The stick went flying into the air. She couldn't stop to fix her hair from flying in the wind as Archangel was already back again.
"Aww he's such a good boy, I think he deserves a little treat." she smiled petting him.

"Here, "Khaat said, pulling out a plastic bag of raspberries and apple slices, "This is what I give him for treats. He's very spoiled. He eats mainly fish and sometimes chicken, but he is a real sucker for berries and apples." She handed her the plastic bag. "I also brought his enchanted fish. If we put it in the water and let it go for a moment or so before we release him, he'll go catch it in the water and bring it back." Khaat showed her a glittery rainbow trout toy that had fins a lot like the golden snitch's wings.

Robert swallowed and wandered over to where the two women were. They seemed to be fussing over the bird a little more than was normal. But then again he obsessed over his dog and was always picking the pup up. His sister would scold him whenever she went to his flat but she'd soon give in and pick the pup just like he would.

Robert smiled, albeit a bit sheepishly at the woman and glanced over to the other one who seemed completely enthralled by the bird. Robert had to admit, he was in awe of the beauty of the creature but he wasn't a bird type of guy and the last time he went into an Aviary he was attacked by the birds so he did tend to stray away from them.

"Uh Hi." Rob said, running a hand through his hair. "I'm Robert Dent. You're Khaat Lupin right?" he asked.

Renae threw up the berrie an Archangel caught it. "He so good I wish I had a pet like him." She took the enchanted fish out of khat's hand. Archangel immediatly started to go crazy. He knew what it was, and he was ready for Renae to throw it in the water. "Ok. Ok." she laughed as she let it go in the water and watch it swam of immediatly. As archangel jumped to the water Renae got splashed with a bit of water.
"Whoa! " she laughed.

Anastasia was walking around the grounds when she heard some voices near the lake. She went over to where they were and saw Khaat. She then broke into a run towards her, smiling widely. Ana saw what everyone was fussing over and her eyes got wide, "Khaat is that Archangel?" She asked grinning energetically.

"Yes," Khaat smiled at the man, reaching out to shake his hand, "And you are the famous Professor Dent I keep hearing about. Nice to finally meet you. We're just exercising my eagle, Archangel. He does all my owl work here, and, well, he's my best buddy. He plays a mean game of fetch." Khaat laughed. Khaat refused to let her think of Professor Dent in anything but a collegue so she wouldn't betray how absolutely schoolgirl-nervous she was in his presence. His smile just seemed to warm her from the inside out. She hoped she didn't look ridiculous to him, have something green in her teeth or one little lock of hair standing straight up or something silly. She tried hard to shove those stupid thoughts from her mind and tried to overcome her nerves before he could get a chance to see a single one.

She heard Anastasia call her, "Yes. Come meet him, "Khaat replied. "This is Archangel--my bald eagle. We're giving him a chance to stretch his wings a little."
