Flying Accident Empty Flying Accident

Post by Amelia Macmillan Tue Aug 07, 2012 4:17 am

Amelia and Edgar had been playing a rather competitive game of Quidditch. She was doing rather risky moves trying to score on Drew but Edgar kept bumping her and stealing the Quaffle to score on Claire. She was getting angrier each time Edgar did but didn’t say anything just tried hard and hard. She had scored once while Edgar was looking at some girl off in the distance. Of course, Edgar came back fighting. Right as Amelia went to score for a second time he headed in the direction to bump her but couldn’t reduce his fast enough and ended up crashing right into his little sister. She instantly fell off her broom. The screams of his oldest younger sister alerted to the fact Amelia was falling to possibly what could be her death. He didn’t know what took over from there as he dove down on his broom trying to catch his little sister. Finally right as Amelia was nearly three-hundred and four centimetres from the ground was he finally able to get hold of her.

After that he ordered Drew and Claire to get mum awhile he took Amelia to St. Mungo’s. He was terrified that his fifteen year old sister was unconscious in his arms. He hadn’t meant to hit her that hard, he just couldn’t slow down. He knew that something had broken in the broom since it was still flying around without a rider. That didn’t make the situation any better since Amelia was still unconscious.

He risked using apparition knowing there was no other choice. He didn’t care if he got in trouble for apparating, his sister needed medical help and it was his fault that she needed it. He always had feared the day when one of his siblings would be in St. Mungo’s but he never expected it to be like this. He felt so guilty.

“WE NEED A HEALER OVER HERE!” yelled Edgar.

Meanwhile, Amelia was in her own world of blackness. She couldn’t hear or see anything going around her. Inside of her own head she was running around a world of complete and utter blackness trying to find a way out. She was panicking. She had never been so scared in her lifetime. She didn’t understand what was going on.

Flying Accident Empty Re: Flying Accident

Post by Susan Bones Tue Aug 07, 2012 4:43 am

Susan had been reading the Daily Prophet in compete disgust once again. She got tired of reading all the crap, as she called it, and threw it into the fireplace. She would have cursed at the paper while she was at it but refrained from doing so. Cursing at an inadament object was something she did as a teenager with mild anger issues. So instead she took her frustration out on baking, more like beating the crud out of flower and egg. She couldn’t believe everything she read in the Daily Prophet, it was ridiculous.

She had finally calmed down enough to bake her cake. She didn’t even know what type of cake it was anymore. She shrugged it off knowing she’d find out when they ate it tonight or tomorrow. She was just glad not be stressed or frustrated anymore. She knew to savour it while she could; it never lasted with four kids.

“MUM! MUM! MUM!” yelled the scared voice of her youngest, Drew.

“Drew, what’s the yelling about?” asked Susan in a worried voice.

“Amelia fell from her broom. Edgar caught her before she hit the ground. He’s taking her to St. Mungo’s. She looked like she was unconscious,” gasped Claire threw deep breaths. She was nearly in tears, she may not always get along with her sister but she still loved her. She hated the thought of something bad happening to her. She had heard all of the stories of how her Great-Aunt Amelia had lost her brother, Edgar, and she was always worried she’d lose one of her siblings and never tell them that she loved them and she’s sorry for being such a snob, in nicer term from the truth.

Susan’s heart skipped a few beats. She was already nearly in tears. She never thought Quidditch would hurt one of her ‘babies’. She swore to herself she was never going to let Amelia play Quidditch again after this. She knew there was a good chance Amelia may never want to or be able to. Her heart started pounding; she was so scared of losing one of her kids. She couldn’t lose one of them; she couldn’t bear to lose a child. She had lost so much of her family already; she couldn’t start losing more family members again. She was terrified of the thought of her kids having to go through the same tragedy previous generations had.

She took her kids harms and apparated, rather risky move since her apparition skills weren’t the best, to St. Mungo’s. She was relieved to see everyone still had all their limbs still attached. She spotted her son and ran over to him. She brushed her hand threw Amelia hair. She started to feel tears roll down her cheeks.

“WHERE ARE THE BLOODY HEALERS!” bellowed Susan at the top of her lungs. Didn’t someone care that a young girl was unconscious in the arms of a young man with people yelling for help. She certainly wasn’t going to be left unnoticed when her daughter was severely hurt.

Flying Accident Empty Re: Flying Accident

Post by Jessie Tyler Tue Aug 07, 2012 10:23 pm

Jess had been walking threw the halls and had just entered the main entrance way when she heard cries for a healer. with a blank chart in her hand she quickly headed in the direction of the cries. "Please follow me. " She said softly knowing they would be worried she touched the girl only for a moment before she had spoke and she lead them to a private side room with a bed. Pulling back the covers she motioned for the young boy carrying the girl to place her down.

Moving to the girls head she lightly touched her then moved down her body finding no broken bones but she felt the girls panic and Jess was a seer as well. " stay calm I'm here to help" she said softly to her, you were injured and are at St. Mongos" Her voice calm as she could see her in the darkness of her own mind. Opening her eyes she looked at the mother and young boy. " She has had a rather hard knock to her head, I feel it might take some time for her to come around, other than that I can't find any broken bones" she offered them. Taking the girls hand she made sure all her vitals were stable, before changing her clothes into a hospital gown and covered her over with a sheet.

Edgar listened to the Healer very carefully. He ignored his mother’s outburst. He had to drone out everything else to keep himself calm. He felt so guilty and concerned that if he even looked at his crying mother he’d meltdown to nothing. It had been his job to protect his little sister, not injure her. He had failed to do the job he thought he always had under control. He laid Amelia on the bed.

Amelia suddenly heard a voice and looked around in confusion. She was so confused and scared. She tried to calm down as much as possibly knowing that it wouldn’t help if she was panicking. She started to try to wrap her head around how the healer was able to talk to her but no else could.

Edgar refused to leave his sister. He made himself comfortable in chair and declared it home for long as it takes for her to awaken. He was glad to hear there were no broken bones but it didn’t help his guilt at all. They didn’t know the state of her mind, who knew if there was any brain damage.

Susan fallowed Edgar very closely unsure where she was going. Tears were burling her vision and fear making it only worst. She knew that the healer was doing everything necessary which put her at ease somewhat. She had never had any of her children ever in St. Mungo’s unless it was for their birth or a check-up.

She was still so worried no mattered what the healer would tell her she’d still be tears. She had never felt such heartache before in her life; she was surprised she hadn’t given herself a heart attack. She was getting too old for this type of stress.

“Can you tell how she is mentally? Like if there is any brain trauma,” asked Susan. She sat close as possible to Amelia. She put a hand on Amelia’s. She tried to fight back any more tears. She debated sending Drew and Claire home. Edgar was an adult now so it was different now.

“Drew, Claire, please go home,” whispered Susan. Claire and Drew left without debating it with their mum. They understood this wasn’t the place for them right now. Claire knew that her mum would keep them updated if anything new happened so she took Drew home with her using the portkey to the house she kept with herself.

Flying Accident Empty Re: Flying Accident

Post by Jessie Tyler Wed Aug 08, 2012 12:55 pm

Jessica waited until the two youngest had left before she finished her report and placed it at the end of the bed . Turning she faced the woman who she took to be her mother who now had moved beside the girl. " She has what we call a subdural hematoma, basically Blood gathers within the outermost layer in her skull, right now she has fluctuating levels of consciousness, all we can do is manage it by careful monitoring until the body heals itself." she said softly " I will not leave her bed side, I have set in place healing spells and they are working all be it slowly, I feel rushing this would only make it worse" she told her gently. Jess was worried that she had missed something and placed her hand on the girls hand double checking she found she was stable and she had not missed anything. " I'm afraid all we can do is wait for her to wake.

Flying Accident Empty Re: Flying Accident

Post by Amelia Macmillan Wed Aug 08, 2012 5:01 pm

Edgar felt sick to his stomach after hearing the news about the subdural hematoma. This was entirely his fault. He should have checked the brooms before they went flying, but he didn’t. He shouldn’t have been playing so rough when he was so much bigger then Amelia, but he did. He was nearly hysterical by now; his mind was going through everything he could have done differently.

Amelia was even more confused than Edgar or her mum. She wanted to know what was wrong with her and why she couldn’t wake up. She wanted to wake up so badly, she wanted this nightmare to be over. She was still feeling guilty about going to that party without telling her mum but what was eating at her was the fact she hadn’t said ‘I love you’ to her mum this morning like she did every morning. The one day she forgets to tell her mum that, she ends up in St. Mungo’s. All she wanted to do right now was to hug her mum and tell Edgar it’s alright. She knew he had to be going through his mental hell right now. She couldn’t imagine what she would have been like if she had done the same thing to Drew. She wondered why Edgar hadn’t stopped; she knew that he wouldn’t purposely hit her like that, so that meant the broom had to malfunction. She wanted so badly to tell her mum that she loved her, that she was still here and that it was the broom’s doing not Edgar’s. She also wanted to tell Edgar that she was still here, that there were no hard feelings and to stop dwelling in his mental hell like she knew he was right now.

Edgar was barely holding himself together. What would he say when his mum asked what happened or when the healer asked? It would sound so stupid and avoidable. He wondered how much consciousness Amelia had. He was praying, hoping that she’d wake up before he went mad.

Flying Accident Empty Re: Flying Accident

Post by Susan Bones Thu Aug 09, 2012 12:49 am

Susan broke down into tears; she didn’t try controlling it anymore. She knew how serious a subdural hematoma was. She hoped it wasn’t an acute subdural hematoma. She was wishing she hadn’t read all those medical books when she bored. She couldn’t believe this was happening; she didn’t want to know what happened anymore she just wanted it to end. She wanted to go back in time and stop Amelia from flying today.

She just couldn’t lose her ‘baby’ girl. She just couldn’t even bear to think of the fact her fifteen year old daughter may or may not wake up. This stuff wasn’t supposed to happen to kids, specially her kids. It broke her heart when she’d read about it in the Daily Prophet or hear it on the radio but this was tearing her heart into a million pieces. Where was she when her daughter needed her most? Reading the paper and baking a bloody cake. She wanted to go back and change everything she had done. If only she had gone with the kids. Then just maybe she wouldn’t be here right now. Amelia could have been sitting at home reading a book or helping bake but instead here she was in St. Mungo’s. Susan wanted to communicate with Amelia or even better wake up from this nightmare of an day.

“Edgar, calm down,” whispered Susan to her son seeing the distress on his face.

Edgar heard his mum but it went in one ear and out the other. Nothing she could say would get through to him. She knew it was a lost cause but she certainly wasn’t going to let him leave her sight at his current state. She wasn’t naïve; she knew all about the stupid things people do when they feel guilty or was grieving. She knew it all too well since she was that person many years ago.

Jess saw the reaction and accioed a cup of warm sweet tea, " Here drink this, it will help your nerves. " She said softly she looked at the woman and shook her head. "I'm sure its not an acute subdural hematoma, but I will monitor her closely for twenty four hours." She told her, Jess looked at the young girl laid on the bed not far from them." She is some what confused right now, I will try and help her out of that dark place she has found her self in." She looked at the woman and the boy and smiled. " She is in the best place for the help she needs, you got her here quick enough that we could start treatment quickly. " She told them her own skills, she knew if not enough, she had some one she could call on, but she also knew she had the confidence to see this through.

Jess stood up and moved to the girl placing her hand on the girls head and spoke softly to her. " Amelia, Amelia listen to me and don't be scared, you had a knock to you head, please don't be scared, I am a healer whose tending to you, you will heal but you need to relax and let go of what it is that is keeping you here, your mother loves you and your brother feels guilty for knocking you off the broom." she spoke soft her voice a mere whisper. Soon she looked back at Amelia's mother.

Flying Accident Empty Re: Flying Accident

Post by Amelia Macmillan Thu Aug 09, 2012 8:36 pm

Amelia looked around as she heard the voice again. Confused as she was she trusted the voice or some reason. She knew the voice was right. The faster she relaxed the faster she can get back to the real world. She took a deep breath and focused on her mother’s face, she knew if she focused on something she’d relax. She stopped thinking so much and focused on her mum’s face. It was the only thing she could think of that will keep her calm. She was nervous to relax too much afraid if she did she wouldn’t wake up.

Edgar was edgy. He didn’t understand what the adults were talking about but he knew that he had to stop acting so immaturely. He knew that Amelia was be furious if she knew how he was acting. He knew that feeling guilty wasn’t going to wake her up. He wished he could just say what he was feeling to his mum but couldn’t. He wondered if this was the same issues his father had. Was the lack of words the reason his parents got divorced? He wouldn’t ask but Merlin if all it took was a lack of words how in Merlin’s name would he make it when he gets married.
