Khaat went into the small clothing shop. There weren't many places to buy clothes in this village. She wanted some more clothes since taking on a couple of jobs here. She wasn't interested iin looking like a teenager. She wanted more classic styles, something that had its own quiet elegance, wasn't trendy, and stood the test of time. She knew that even though she didn't have a single wrinkle or gray hair, she was definately going to be seen as older. She hoped they didn't see her as overly ancient, though.
She avoided the mob over at the evening wear racks, and quietly smiled. The Yule Ball. She remembered the ones she went to . She went over to the racks for day wear. She had lots of jeans and cotton shirts, but she needed some skirts. She began looking through the long broomstick style skirts she liked, particularly, a black one with a little bit shimmer to it. It had a matching tunic top. She took them, and found a few other skirts and tops she liked. She had old family jewelry that she could wear with these things. She chose a pair of black leather boots with nice tall heels, and she chose them. They would be good for winter. She chose another tan pair of suede boots with chunky heels for tromping through the forest. They would match her favorite suede jacket.
She turned from clothes, handing them to a willing clerk to box up for her, and began exploring accessories. It was looking like she was buying almost a whole new wardrobe.
