Okay, since this plot started, I've caught a lot of copycat threads in the RP Requests forum,
and I've seen a lot of Death Eater members requesting for people they can "battle" with, or do other nasty things to.
I do not just put threads up in here for fun. I expect you to read them. But I will reiterate for those of you who do not read them. The Death Eaters are NOT a motley collection of dark witches and wizards. They are organized. They follow rules. They do not go around hurting people because they feel like it. When they hurt someone, it's because they have an aim.
In order to bring some semblance of order to this group, I'm now going to take some actions I really hoped I wouldn't have to take.
- If you became a Death Eater after 1997, NOBODY is supposed to know your secret. Being a Death Eater is dangerous. It is not something to flaunt, confess or otherwise make light of. If you are a student at Hogwarts, nobody knows you are a Death Eater.
- Any plot that you think up or that you are asked to participate which involves hurting another character in your capacity as a Death Eater will have to be run by me. I didn't want to do this, but I have to take some responsibility and I can't have you all running around crucioing people willy-nilly.
- There will be an Inner Circle. The Inner Circle will have some responsibilities the rest of you don't. To be part of the Inner Circle, you need to be active. Death Eaters aren't just about killing. Don't ask to be part of it, I'll ask you.
- If you become a Death Eater and you don't like all of this, you may opt out by leaving before you participate in any Death Eater plots (including attending meetings and the like) and we won't hunt you down for your treachery. Obviously, if you leave after being in plots we'll need to kill you.
Once you've read this, I need you to post a reply saying you've read and understood it.
ADDED - 11/12/09
rule 2 - When I say "run by me" I mean I want you to tell me about it, not that I want to run the actual plot. That seemed to be a bit confusing.
rule 4 - Obviously this isn't going to be enacted retroactively, and obviously I can't really kill your character without your permission. They'd just end up on a list of people we want to see dead.
