What Lies Within

As everyone knows, Hogwarts was founded over a thousand years ago by the four greatest wizards of the age; Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin. However, what most people didn’t know about the four founders was what Salazar really left over. Hogwarts has a dark secret that has been kept since its founding. Something has been trapped and hidden within the belly of Hogwarts, waiting over a thousand years to get out. Welcome to What Lies Within. Are you ready for the year to come?

In 1997, when the Final Battle between Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort was fought upon the grounds of Hogwarts, something unexpected, but unknown happened. Hogwarts absorbed all the expelled magic from the battle. This release of magic severed the bonds of the dark entity within the school which is ready to begin causing chaos. Now, 24 years later, there is a new generation at Hogwarts. A generation that usually couldn’t care less what someone else’s house is. There are still house rivalries, especially over quiddich, between the four houses but there is nothing like before where students seemed to pile into the Hospital Wing because of scuffles.

With the four Houses cooperating, the staff, and Hogwarts, almost seemed to breathe easier. Slytherins helping Hufflepuffs and so forth. The likes of such things, Hogwarts had never seen each other. The strangest though, was that the Slytherin students of the new generation actually knew how to smile and not because someone was hurting. Laughter filled the school and all seemed well.

But nothing can stay perfect and the past 24 years were really just the calm before a very messy storm to come. Who knew that all that magic started to unleash something so horrific that the founders felt the need to bind it to Hogwarts forever? It was this year that, jokingly, Harry Potter told his three children that there was never a quiet year at Hogwarts and something was bound to happen after 24 years of silence. If only he had known.
