AROUND THE FIRE , opentoanyone.

Ginevra walked into the common room and just sank right after the door swung shut behind her. Closing her eyes, she laid there on the floor, letting the energy slowly get reabsorbed so that she would be able to make it to the couch. Nothing was wrong, she was merley tired, like always. All of her homework had been finished outside and all that was left in the common room, that she was actually aware of, was the crackling fire slowly getting dimmer and dimmer as the time had passed by in the night.

Keith walked up to the door and knocked on the knocker impatiently. "Come on, come on, come on," he muttered in a sing song voice, watching the eagle's head stir to life. "I have a lot of homework and this bag is really freaking heavy..." The knocker peered at him for a moment and said:

"There are four brothers in this world that were all born together. The first runs and never wearies. The second eats and is never full. The third drinks and is always thirsty. The fourth sings a song that is never good." It paused, almost solely for dramatic effect. "Who are they?"

Keith cursed and sat down to think. Several minuets later, he stood up and snapped his fingers. "Aha!" He shouted at the knocker. "Fool! The brothers are Water, Fire, Earth, and Wind!"

"Nicely done," The knocker said calmly, and the door swung open. Keith punched the air in triumph and stepped through the doorway.

Right onto a 5th year. Keith glanced down. "Hey. Dorms are up the stairs. Yours are to the right, I think. Unless you're not a girl, which would be kinda creepy."

Ginevra had not been expecting anyone to barge in, and since she was so tired she hadn't noticed the screaming on the other side of the door involving a boy and the knocker, which was in the shape of an eagle. Once he did step it, all she was glad for was the fact that she had not been stepped on. It would have tempered her, for sure. "I'm well aware of that. Keith, isn't it?" she had rolled herself over and propped herself up on her elbows so that she could actually see him. Since the room was dark, all she could see was the outline of what the flames were illuminating. Her clothes were mostly all dark. Black skinny jeans were upon her legs, paired with a white shirt and pair of shoes (flats because of what she had been doing before this) and a white sweater. Shaking her head, her hair moved around her shoulders and to her back so that it was just hanging there.

Keith arched an eyebrow. "Um...hi? I would say something cute and clever but right now I'm trying to figure out how you know my name." He bit his lip, absently shrugging his backpack to the ground and loosening his standard issue Hogwarts tie from around his neck. His school uniform was still on, the robes at least a size too big for him. "Oh right!" He said finally. "From Quidditch. You're that chaser, right?"

Ginevra made a face. She may have sounded like some sort of stalker just knowing his name and all but she had also just been really good with names in general. Also, this guy was a first year so at the feast where he got sorted, she would have heard him get called up. That was just another way that she had heard it. Was it really her fault that she had a good memory? Oh well, she would go with the less creepy responce of just knowing it from Quiddich. "From Quiddich." she explained, seeing as he caught on she was also from Quiddich. "The chaser sub." she added, confirming his thoughts on which spot she was filling in for. "Why in so late?" Of course she was guilty of not even coming back in her first year, and still through to her sixth year, but still, it was harmless conversation she was making.

Keith sighed and rolled his eyes. "Because I have about 10 pounds of homework to do tonight." He dug into his backpack and began taking out papers at random. "Potions essay..List the uses of a bezoar and compare it to other well known healing potions." He sighed. "Practice expelliarmus and Wingardium Leviosa, have that perfected by tomorrow. Finish star chart for astronomy, lis the moons of every planet and it's atmospheric conditions. Oh, and write an essay describing who would win in a fight between a basilisk and a Hungarian Horntail and why....Weird teacher, Shacklebolt..."

What didn't make sense to Ginevra was the fact that he was coming in late, with what looked like unfinished homework. Wouldn't you come in early if you had to do it? Generally that was what the smarter of people would do but apparently this kid didn't fall under the catagory. Maybe he was like her- concentrated easily, therefore it didn't matter what time of day or night it was, as it would get done real fast if she wanted it too, or in his case, he. Or! Or- maybe, just maybe he was the type that needed complete and utter silence, so the night was the best time he could find that type of surroundings. She wasn't sure, but she didn't plan on asking. "I can practice the disarming charm with you. As for the levitation, it's one of the easist to master- or at least I found it that way. When it comes to healing potions, it's another one of my interests. Just ask if you need help, or want it." she knew that just because you asked, didn't mean you needed it.

Everybody was different, as she knew that she had never once asked for help. She refused it, even if she didn't get what they were doing. She had to learn it for herself, just to know that she was still an individual who hadn't the need to lean on someone else for support. She saw a lot of things this way though. Offering for help was different because when they accepted, if the person did, she never saw them as weak. No, not anything close. She knew better than to judge by anything like that. Actually, asking for help was usually the smarter way to do things, as learning from another could teach you different techniques. Ginevra was just stubborn on how she was. Such a complicated thing to understand, which was why no one ever did try and get how she worked. Having finished her homework already, her bag was neatly packed with it all. It wasnt like she would have it cluttered, as if she did there would just be a higher risk of losing it.

Keith sighed and started rifling through his bag. Honestly he would've been up here sooner, but the backpack was heavy to the point where it was literally tipping him over backwards while he was walking up stairs. And when the staircases move, that was not a good thing. Plus, he had spent about an hour hanging upside down, suspended by his ankle in an empty hallway. Maybe he should stop insulting people's mothers.

He yanked out his potions book, quill, and a piece of parchment. Might as well get the tough stuff out of the way first. He stared at the page blankly for a moment or two, and then grinned sheepishly. "So what exactly is a bezoar?"

Ginevra knew that she had hated always lugging around a bag but after years of getting ued to it, you really didn't notice it anymore, which was why she rarely ever got a sore back- that and because she knew charms to make things expand so you could fit something like a couch in and room would still be easy to fit- while maintaining a reasonable weight you could lift for a longer period of time. The charm was one most people knew, though, as it wasn't exactly what you could call rare. Smiling, his question was very easy. "A bezoar is a stone taken from a goats stomach. It's an antidote to most potions, which is what you're question probably asks you. Say for instance someone was positioned. You could take a bezoar and give it to them, and they would be cured- that doesn't go to say that it cures everything, though- just most potions." she explained, getting everything right off of the top of her head.
