Nick who had been in Hogsmeade buying new quills had heard the disturbance but until his old Muggle Studies proffesor went to investigate he had ignored it. Nick had had a sort of crush on Proffesor Calvert a few years ago but that was all in the past now, he had totally moved on, still he couldn't let her go alone, things sounded serious. As he jogged behind her he delved into his robes and drew his wand, fairly certain that he knew who was the cause of the disturbance.
He was right, Matt Lestrange, a troublesome bast**d but a good Death Eater. It seemed wherever there was trouble there was Matt, he was like a fly attracted to dirt. Nick's eyes narrowed and he came into view just as Proffesor Calvert had spoken. Jumping in front of her he cast Protego, deflecting the Stupefy he spoke calmly "Proffesor, you see to Sierra, Matt Lestrange and I have previous." Levelling his wand at Matt he spoke "I told you nothing had changed. In Canada I saved you but today, you die!" Nick was so very brave at times, and ninety percent of the time there were good looking girls in the vicinity. He risked a glance at his proffesor then got down to duelling, opting not to bow before hand. Why give Lestrange a chance to get in the first move "AVADA KEDAVRA"
Nick had totally forgotten that he was in the presence of a school teacher and a girl he had been flirting with a few days earlier. It was the adrenaline of battle, no doubt he had some explaining to do, using unforgivable curses like that was illegal. But to use a killing curse, revealed a side that these woman had never seen in Nick Valentine.
