As the train chugged to a halt Nick found himself escorting first year students who had been seated around him out on to the platform. Last year he would have been the last person to be helping first years, it was funny what a little badge could do to ones personality. Nick had been embaressed and annoyed at having made prefect at the start of the summer but now he was warming to it. These feeling's however would no doubt leave him again when he actually started school. After making sure all those around him were off safely, and that there was no one else needing some help, he too stepped of the train and on to the platform. Nick was a little relieved too see the teacher's taking over the "looking after first year duty". He like everyone else headed up towards the carriages. He enjoyed the carriage rides, they were relaxing and much more old fashioned than the train. It really got him in the mood for magic. Seeing them all lined up and ready to go Nick's pace quickened slightly.
After patting the thestral pulling the carriage Nick ascended the couple of steps to get inside. It was nice and cosy, comfortable green leather seats adorned either side of it and two wall mounted candles provided just enough light to see the other side of the small room. Nick gazed out the window at the darkness which had enveloped the landscape. They had been on that train all day, he was almost at Hogwarts, just another twenty minutes or so. His last time in Hogwarts had been a dark and dangerous affair. Nick hoped to god that they had managed to repair all the damage caused by the battle. It would be weird walking up and down the corridor where he had battled the Lestrange's, it would take some getting used too. Rain began to trickle down the window.
Nick had changed into his full school uniform early into the train journey. He wore his white shirt, his green and silver striped tie and a black Hogwart's sweater. Nick also wore black dress trousers and black loafer's. Over all this he wore his black school robe, the ends were trimmed with green and silver, showing that he was a member of Slytherin house. Nick really suited his Hogwarts uniform, he was a good looking guy, though until now he had been more interested in the Dark Arts and what not. He was only really beginning to notice the girls around him. Sighing a little he reached into his black leather satchel and drew his wand, which he fiddled around with out of boredom. It was a new wand, fresh from Ollivanders and it still had that new wand feel.
