Nick listened to Godric’s threats with a grin upon his face, they meant little to Nick, a boy who had battled both Lestranges and had even had a passing with the great lord Voldemort. He sipped at his drink mid-speech, showing the boy that he was not really interested in fighting with him. In reality he could have just ignored Delk’s speech as it was in Parseltongue, he was showing off for his cousin, chances were he wasn’t expecting a reply, though it was a reply he got “The importance and secrecy you place on your middle name is rather pathetic, what is it a special thing that only your best friends can call you, so childish. Still if you care at all for your cousins happiness you’ll stop this foolish, macho persona and let her enjoy the party. Any fights you want to start with me can wait till we are alone. Don’t start something when your cousin is having a good time….Godric.” He emphasized the boys name which sounded just the same in Parsel as it did in English. Both boys continued to stare at each other for a few seconds before Christabelle demanded to know what her cousin had said.
He wrapped his left hand around her waste and pulled her closer to him, he smiled at her re-assuringly “Nothing special my sweet, just that he was pleased his dearest cousin had finally found herself a pureblooded wizard that had the looks to match his prestigious second name. You find that in some pure blood families you know. They have the blood but they lack other certain qualities. Anyways, he says I cant call him by his middle name just yet. But one day we might just get to it…..” Nick smiled a fake smile and kissed Christabelle on the cheek, it was around this time Marianna appeared. Ridding the kitchen of some of the tension which had gathered, Nick took the time Godric was distracted to speak to Christabelle.
He spoke in a hushed whisper, so they were not over heard “You know we have become close over the past few week’s. Do you think we should make thing’s a little more formal?” Nick started to blush a little and lowered his voice further “I mean, do you think we should start dating?”
Nick smiled a little whilst biting his bottom lip, his black loafers shuffled awkwardly on the floor as he awaited an answer. He felt his stomach do backflips but he enjoyed the feeling. For a few seconds it was just Christabelle and himself in the kitchen. There was no Godric trying to ruin thing’s and no drunk teenagers staggering in and out with their drink’s.
