Ctrl+V (Paste)

I don’t have very many memories from when I was young except those rare “flash bold” memories when something bad or important happens. One of my only “flash bold” memories takes place eight years ago exactly. I was four years old at the time and it must not have been a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday because I was not in pre-school that day. I was in the kitchen at the table and for some reason that I cannot quite recall at this time. I hopped down off the chair (because my legs were too short to reach the ground) and pulled down the chair cushion as I went. After replacing the cushion I walked seven or so paces towards the room our family calls the front room. This room is a mix of a computer room (has the computer), mud room (holds out coats and boots), living room (has a chair and fireplace), and junction (connects hallway, living room, dining room, and mud room/entrance room). I entered the front room and saw my mother and father standing near each other talking in low voices that I could not quite understand. Even though I did not understand what had happened at 9/11 but I could sense the sadness and fear in the air and I felt that I should not interrupt. What really matters to me is the security that the place we live in gives my loved ones and me pertection.
This event was one of the first events in my life that I can look back on and really see how lucky I am to live in the place I do. Here in VT we have no reason for any nuclear attack (or other forms of attack). No hurricanes like in FL or tsunamis like in Indonesia. The weather is not too cold or warm, a perfect balance. I am so lucky to have this safe, beautiful, place as my home. Because I have lived like this my whole life with this privilege I never realized until very recently (like last year) how much I really had. This value is a very important thing for me because I am one of those people who wants me and my family be safe and happy at all costs
